but it is not. I sold some stuff for over $100 and I keep getting the checks in the mail email. Now, I understand things happen and yes, the mail is slow, but it has been over a month. I am a believer in the honor system and shipped the items prior to receiving the money and now nothing. What do you suggest I do?? I don't mean to put a damper on things but that money is going towards something special for Charlie.

that's why I prefer to do paypal when I can with doing online transactions. If I know the persons "track record" I have no qualms about it..but if I don't..I definitely go with paypal. I am so sorry you are going through this right now..that really stinks..especially if you are like me..you depend upon being able to use the funds towards a certain project/plan/and in a timely manner...and when you have to wait so long it is a bummer. With me right now with selling anything ..I am trying to raise funds to buy the paint and items I need to get my house on the market without having to tap into the family budget...and when I need to clear out/raise money its because I have a project that I really want to get done pronto. So... I hope things get resolved for you real soon.

unless you used paypal or some sort of online auction system I'm not sure what you can do. If it is someone here on the forum you might contact Carol and see if there is anything they can do. I had a similar experience years ago and have always used paypal since and I always wait until I get the money before sending. Good luck and sorry!

I used to use the honor system and I got burned, so I require at least 1/2 of the money upfront now. I think all you can do is keep billing and when you lose patience, you could send increasingly less friendly reminders. I did this and finally got a response on my third letter - and I was adding interest each month with each statement. I had to threaten to turn her into collections, but fortunately it didn't come to that. You will probably get a response after sending your first "reminder" letter with interest added. It's a part of business I don't enjoy.

That's a real shame, Heather. I really hope it isn't someone on our forum here. You'd think they could send you installments if they are that tight with money, or send the items back to you at their expense.
I've only had one barter go bad in about 30-40 that I've done here. And in that case the item I shipped out arrived damaged, so I wasn't even going to ask for my side of the bater.
I hope this doesn't ruin your faith in others. One hundred dollars is a lot of money, though. Ouch.
