Hi, my name is Kathy and this is my second try for my welcome wagon post. I can't find the first one I did about 2 years ago, so I thought I had better try again. I am a big fan of this site and Mary Janes products. I just placed another order yesterday.
I actually live in a wonderful big old house (built 1924) on about 2 acres or so. I really haven't got into the gardening/landscaping yet, although I have been working on the plans/designs. When I decide to do it, it will come together pretty quickly. I have a guy that comes in to help with the mature landscape/lawn weekly otherwise it would be too much for me.
I have been working on the inside, and am now almost finished. Plan to complete the kitchen (the last item) by this fall. I specialize in the restoration of pre 1930 houses and try to put them back as close as possible to their original state. Although we do up grade wiring/plumbing/insulation/security and so on. We also sometimes go way over the top such as completely tiling a floor to ceiling bathroom.
I am married to a wonderful husband and look forward to meeting you. Kathy

Welcome Kathy. Sounds like you have a wonderful life. We, too, live in an old farm house that we have restored. Boy what a job, but we still love it. We are the only house at the end of a 1/2 mile lane. So quiet and peaceful. I like to garden, piece quilts, sew aprons and whatever else comes along. This is a great source of info and support.

Howdy Kathy! I live in a big old farm house from the early 30's I"ve been working on for about 6 years now. It's a great old house, but it sure takes a lot of TLC and time. We're glad you made it back here...we were waiting just for you :) kate

Hi Kathy-So nice to see another Oregonion here. I was beginning to think I was the only one. We too live in an old house, but don't have any plans to restore it. We always joke that the chickens have a nicer house than us, even though it's not true. If this was our "forever" house then it would be upgraded. We see more acerage in our future though. Nice to meet you. |

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like a terrific house, we have a saying here in Maine that no one's house is ever done...but that's probably not true every where else. We have such a short good weather season, it is more fun to be outside dodging the mosquitos, etc.... karin

Welcome Kathy,
I live in S.Central Kentucky. I have never been to Oregon, however, I would love to visit the Pacific Northwest. You will be fully entertained and informed on MJF. It is full of people with great spirits and lots of farm girl knowledge.

Hi, Kathy. Welcome to the forum! My dh and I are restoring/renovating, adding on to an old farmhouse(1918) in Irvington, KY.

Hi Kathy, How wonderful for you to be able to restore older homes so there history is not lost. That would be amazing. We lived in Hillsboro area there out of Portland for 11 years. It is a beautiful place to live. I have to say I miss being close to the beach. Glad you are here. Carol Sue
