What is osteo-bioflex. I've not heard of that one. The glucosomine helps too. My honey has a lot of problems with his hands from working massage and he has tried everything known . For him Triflora arthritis gel works a little. It's a homeopathic cream that rubs in with massage. That reallly works for me on my feet and ankles.

Miss Wilma, I am so sorry to hear you are having the pain of dealing with Arthur! He's not a friend of mine, either and although I haven't been able to get him to leave, I will tell you how I keep him out of my way. Here's my two cents worth: About 9 years ago, I was dealing with arthritis pain in my lower back so bad that I could not walk by the afternoon each day because the pain would go down my leg. To make a long story short, my dad told me to try "something new" and gave me a book to read that helped him. Well, the new nutrients were glucosamine and chondroitin. They now are widely available and used. The book is "Miracle Cures" by Jean Carper. (your library should have it) I started taking both glocosamine & chondroitin and in 6 weeks the pain was basicly gone. I regularly take it because it rebuilds the cartilage and that's what stops the pain. One other thing I've learned is that taking NSAIDS actually worsens arthritis, because they destroy cartilage, amoung other nasty things. I'd say, read about glucosamine/chonroitin and give it a fair try. It takes about 5-6 weeks to see and feel results. It works for me!

Arthur and I have been going around for about four years now. I get a treatment with Remicade every 7 weeks and that seems to help---and here's the BUT--it is so expensive. Thank goodness Medicare and my private insurance pay for the treatment.
My orthopedic surgeon pooh-poohed the Glucosamine-Chondroitin combination, but I figured it wasn't expensive and was worth the try. I have taken it for the last 3-1/2 years and I do not have to use pain medications except on a rare occasion.
I have a GF living in ID that is much younger than me--by at least 10 years and has had both knees replaced. She told me once that my knees would tell me when it was time for replacement and I'm still waiting.
Arthur will never go away, but at least we can make him not as welcome as he thought he should be.

Dearest Miss Wilma, Is Arthur's last name Wrongis? Couldn't be Rightis! -cause that's just wrong. I have no experience with Arthur but if I meet him, I'll kick him in the shins for ya. Otherwise, besides prayer, I can not be of help to you in this valley. Sorry you are stuggling so. I know the farmgirls who have this unwelcome visitor too will help you find relief. Farmgirls know everything! I love you, Karen happy farmgirl #89

if you google jokes and arthritis this comes up... ...and it's funny!
"A man who smelled like a distillery flopped on a subway seat next to a priest. The man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few minutes, the disheveled guy turned to the priest and asked, "Say, father, what causes arthritis?" "Mister, it's caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol and a contempt for your fellow man." said the priest.
"Well I'll be." the drunk muttered, returning to his paper.
The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized. "I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?"
"I don't have it father. I was just reading here that the Pope does."

I have used euclyptus oil on sore joints before and it has worked like a dream. Dr. Bailey's sells it for the purpose of releaving minor aches and pains. I had this exact brand, but you could create your own easy enough. http://www.docbailey.com/oil_of_eucalyptus.asp

Glad to hear he's hit the road, Miss Wilma. It's raining up this way, so I think he's moved on to Northern Kentucky!

Miss Wilma, you are truly a treasure. And I'm the luckiest girl in the world to know you. The pillows sound divine, and how wonderful that they are from our state!!! Your kindness humbles me.
