I've been thinking about attempting to make some for summer teas and luncheons on the weekends. I found this info on them... http://allrecipes.com/HowTo/Petit-Fours/Detail.aspx

So now I'm wondering if any of you have tried making them, and have any favorite ways of doing it? Favorite cakes (they recommend sponge cakes or even pound cake)?? Special fillings?

Hey, I have made them before, you can see them here:

But, next time, I want to use this cake recipe.

I would love to fill them with lemon curd, or a strawberry jam..or mango. Yum! I am wanting to make petit fours now! LOL! Keep me posted on how your turn out.

Oooh, those are beautiful, April!! I like how you designed them specifically for the shower ~ hadn't thought about being able to decorate them specifically for the occasion. I could even do some holiday themed ones at the end of the year for Christmas...hmm...possibilities...

I am planning on making them for my daughters birthday luau. I think that I may fill them with strawberry and put flamingos on them.

So, you could decorate them with anything, or leave them plain.
