Hi Donna, We are just north of Blue Ridge, GA, which is north of Ellijay, GA, if that helps you! We are 7 miles from Copperhill, TN and 20 Miles from Murphy, NC. We are in the mountains!
STILL haven't made those Strawberry cookies!
Hugs, Ruth

Catherine - Thank you so much -- I received your recipes today and can't wait to try them. I especially like the personal notes about about your mom. That's where I learned to cook too -- right next to my dear mama. Your recipes are going in the mail tomorrow. Things at work have been CRAZY, but the weekend is here

Hi Tina, I made your wonderful Strawberry Sandies Friday night for a party on Saturday. They were a huge hit! Thanks!!! The only change I made was to use crushed fresh strawberries instead of the water. My oldest grandson (24 yrs old) loves to cook and he said these are wonderful, but I think they would be super wonderful if I put some cream cheese icing on them and top them with a strawberry half - he did just that! They were beautiful and oh so tasty. Everyone at the party wanted the recipe - and I did share with them. Thanks so much for a wonderful recipe.
The one funny thing, I think, even the non-sweet eaters liked the cookies.
Hugs, Ruth

Hey Ruth
You will never believe this but we were in Blue Ridge last weekend for the arts and crats fair on the square. I love it up in north GA. It seems so relaxing there. We were there Friday thru Monday.

Donna, Where you in Blue Ridge or Blairsville? Blue Ridge's Arts in the Park is this coming Saturday and Sunday - big doings! If you can, you ought to come back, if even for a day! They are also doing 'you pick cherries" at Merciers Orchard on Hwy 5, about 4 miles north of BR. The cherries are WONDERFUL!!! We are going to pick Saturday afternoon.

We stayed in Blue Ridge but the arts and crafts festival was in Blairsville. We wanted to get away for a few days so we went on last weekend instead of Memorial Day weekend (too busy for us). Sunday is my older brother's 60th birthday and we always have a big to-do for our milestone birthdays. I have been to the one in Blue Ridge and I loved it.
Blessings and Hugs, Donna

Hi Melissa! Sorry, I couldn't think of anything till school was over. I'll mail them this week since I only have one class so it should be easier.

I am so excited for this to start! I can't wait to find out my partner and get to swappin'. I don't think I know any Amish recipes, but I've got tons of good "down home" eats in my recipe box.

We have an Amish settlement about 2 miles from where I grew up, and where my parents still live. They recently finished installing a roof on my grandmother's porch :D
