My husband put a deposit on the flower shop yesterday and we made an offer and signed a contract. Part of the purchase will be owner financed, so she is considering my offer. Since it's been on the market for 6 months she has declined all owner finance options, but she is considering mine! This is just crazy to me! So I'll still take any advice anyone has. Since we already have our own construction/painting business, I'm familiar with the dedication and time that is involved, but I dont know a thing about flower arranging.

Read everything that you can about the topic and then trust your creativity. Also, see what your community offers on the subject. Often garden clubs, botanical gardens, ext. offices and nurseries will offer classes.

See, at first I will be there more as management, because there is already a floral designer working there, but I think there's a possibility of her not staying. I hope to be able to learn quite a bit from her.

OK, this might sound like cheating, but you can buy or borrow from the library books on flower arranging, can't you? Or even browse the FTD/1-800-FLOWERS or PRO-FLOWERS websites for their selections, just to get you started. It's likely something you can pick up pretty quickly after you have a few ideas to start you off.

It sounds like a wonderful venture, Cristine. Wishing you the very best success!
