I have not been feeling very well this past month - had hubby home for week with a high fever and a bacterial infection. I have been bruising and staying bruised and have been exhausted. Fibro could be the cause but finally went to the dr and had some bloodwork done. Blood shows body is fighting infection and not sure what it is, now my glands on my neck are very lumpy and swollen and could have been strep but not sure. She put me on antibiotic that I started tonight and I have repeat bloodwork to go for that will also include an Epstein-Barr panel and test for Cytomeglea (sp) virus - also my liver enzymes were elevated again, this happens every so often. I have just not had the energy to do anything. I spent my birthday on Sunday flat out in bed with bad headache, sinus pain, swollen glands and no energy. I want to feel good, I have lots to do and don't have time for this.......I am starting to look like an old banana with the bruises. Send the healing light my way. Hubby went back to work tonight and I know he will be exhausted when he comes home. He works in elementary school and it is germy so that is probably where he picked up something. I have been to the doctor twice in one week, that is not me AT ALL. I have not even planted my garden seeds yet.....*sigh*

Kathy,
My heavens girl....Absolutley know that I will keep you in my prayers....being that your on antibiotics.. when your done with them make sure to add some probiotics to your diet (acidophilus, bifidus etc) a good homemade keifer or yogart.. what it does it build up for good bacteria (as of course the antibiotics kill both good and bad).. the good bacteria will help support your immune system.....I hope you can get plenty of rest and lots of water.... I will keep you covered in prayer....keep us updated.

Kathy-

I am so sorry you are not feeling well!

I suggest that you try brewing and drinking Kombucha tea. I drink it every day- it helps fight off those little bugs and is supposed to help aid you kidney and livers in getting rid of toxins, especially the bile salts.

I hope you start feeling better soon!

hey there Kathy...will be praying for you girl.
Listen..you might want to start upping your intake of vitamin C..start upping your intake of vitamin C to just before it causes you to get diarrhea..seriously..start taking as much as your body can handle.
Take a thousand milligrams then wait an hour or so then take another thousand..build up to where you are taking about 3,000 to 6,000 milligrams a day. Your body will let you know when you have more than you need by giving you that little bathroom trigger..but..if your body needs it..it will alow you to build up to about 6,000 milligrams without any problem. Especially if you are fighting an infection. It will also help with the easy bruising problem.(you might want to read about this in a book by Linus Pauling called "How to Live Longer and Feel Better" it is a very good read about the benefits of upping one's Vitamin C intake)

About the bruising..
Medications and supplements can cause easy bruising

Blood-thinning drugs such as aspirin and warfarin (Coumadin) or medications such as clopidogrel (Plavix) reduce your blood's ability to clot. Because of this, bleeding from capillary damage that would normally stop quickly may take longer to stop, allowing enough blood to leak out to cause a bruise.

Corticosteroids cause your skin to thin, making it easier to bruise. Don't stop taking your medications if you experience increased bruising. Talk to your doctor about your concerns and ask what you should do.

Certain dietary supplements such as fish oil, ginkgo, ginger and garlic also may increase your bruising risk, since these supplements have a blood-thinning effect. Make sure your doctor is aware of any supplements you're taking — especially if you're taking them while on a blood-thinning drug. Your doctor may recommend avoiding certain over-the-counter medications or supplements.

Praying that you feel better soon. I have the Epson - Barr virus from a long ago bout of Mono. I have chronically swollen glands and a mild case of chronic fatigue as a result. It's not fun, but it could be worse. Hang in there friend...we are all thinking of you!
