I ordered some stuff online and it seems it is taking forever, even with priority mail. It is me? I also sent stuff and it is taking a long time to make it to its destination. Anyone else having problems? Is it gas prices- they are trying to conserve? GRRRR.....

I am wondering the same thing...One of the fellow farmgirls on here sent me some Priority Mail packages and they have yet to reach me (this was about 2 weeks ago)....must be lost in the mail pit somewhere...unless someone is really loving homemade detergent and scraps of ribbons/lace/fabric.

On the other hand, my stuff that I am sending to others Priority is taking 3 days...so on time there...go figure.

mail is being stupid...and then they go and raise rates! for slower service! Things I ordered continentally for Grace's birthday, over a MONTh before her birthday, took just about a month! some didn't get here until after her birthday!

I have gained a new respect for the Postal Service since my husband became a mail carrier two months ago. And I find am more forgiving when it comes to things getting to my house a bit later than expected. Our packages travel through many, many paths before they land at our local Post Office. Plane delays, mechanical problems, weather, bomb threats, gas leaks (the last one happened when Jim was working and he did not get home until 10:00 at night because the mail had to be delivered) all play a part in the adventures of an envelope or box. I've just learned to be patient and be grateful when my mail does arrive. :)

I totally respect our mail system here as well, & have had great service with the USPS, just as good as UPS & FedX (although I do have to admit that I like getting UPS cause our driver is a hottie) Our Fedx guy is a big whiner about us not having an address on our house(we have one on a telephone pole in the yard) He needs to get out of the country & get a city job.
Our mail guy does a great job, & I have had stuff shipped from CA & it makes it to OH in 3-4 days(& that is just parcel post). If I order from Amazon with their Free SUper Saver shipping(which is supposed to take like 10-14 days), I always get it in the mail in less than 1 week. Even at Xmas. So hats off to the USPS & if they need that extra penny, I will gladly pay it. Just sorry the other Farmgals are having problems., but our service here is great.
