Does anyone have a really good recipe for candied or any flavored pecans? I want to make some for the holidays for gifts (especially since we have pecan trees and have more than we can eat). At the Texas Ranch Roundup we had here a few weeks back they were selling cinnamon flavored pecans and they were to die for. Any recipes would be greatly appreciated!!!

Spicy Pecans

2c sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 c water
4 c pecan halves

mix all but pecans in microwave safe bowl. microwave high for 4 minutes. stir well. microwave again for 2 1/2-4 min (depends how hot your microwave gets) you want the candy to be soft and melty.

add pecans and stir to coat. spread on wax paper to dry.

they are fabulous! I hope you enjoy :)

With this same recipe substitute 1/2 teas. cayenne pepper, and 1/4 teas. cajun seasoning for the nutmeg and cloves and you have sweet -n- hot nuts. Works with peanuts, cashews and almonds too.

If it's not illegal, unsafe, or immoral, why not try anything once? Who knows? You may come back for a second helping!

Here are the "Gourmet Pecans" I make every Christmas -
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg white
3 TBSP. Grand Marnier or Kahlua, or any strong flavored liqueur
4 or more cups pecan halves

Preheat oven to 325. Line a jelly roll pan with foil. Combine sugar and salt in bowl. Set aside. Whisk egg white and liqueur in a large bowl. Add pecans and stir to coat. Add sugar mixture, stir. Spread pecans in single layer on prepared pan. Bake 20-25 minutes until pecans are crisp, stirring every 10 minutes, from outside toward center of pan. Remove from the pan and immediately loosen pecans from foil. Cool on wax paper.
