Yes I've done it - jumped in with both feet. I bought a glass kiln, silver clay, scads of beads, and lots and lots of glass for fusing. This is what happened - I've been working on beading and I just took a silver clay workshop and it revived my obsession with all things that glitter. Silver jewelry, glass beads, fused glass.

I'm so excited to begin designing my own silver and fused glass pendants and earrings. I'll be trying to get some things done in time for the local art fairs this summer. Does anyone else work with these materials? I'd love to hear about your work.

I'll post pictures as soon as I can. Sage :)

I work with regular polymer clay a lot. It's a lot of fun. Good luck with everything and please show us what you make with your new goodies.
Take care,
Marcy

Thanks, Marcy. The silver clay is very similar to polymer clay except that it is fired in a kiln. I can hardly wait for my order to arrive. Sage :)

I'm still waiting for the delivery of my orders. I'm anxious to start because if this works out like I've planned I'll have a little home business. It will be nice to have the income when I decide to retire. Sage :)

Oh how exciting! I took an art clay silver class this past spring with a friend. We made a pendant and have a finished necklace.

You will have so much fun creating!

The glass, the silver clay, and the beads came but NO KILN. I waited and waited (the order said 5-10 days)and finally called the company. The kiln was on back order but they forgot to tell me that. :( Oh well, it should be here tomorrow and then I'll be firing it up to see what I can create. I'll post pictures as soon as I have something better than a box of supplies. :) Sage

Sage, I am so very excited for you!! Quite a few years ago I started to look into making glass beads, but unfortunately never got started making them. At the time I made silver jewelry and cut my own stones, but then I had three kids and you know... I hope you have fun and as I said I am so so excited for you and I am looking foward to pics also.

Haha, my mom beads in her spare time, too. It's addictive, for sure!
