My ND had recommended i drink fresh celery juice for my stiff joints. I don't have a juicer, does anyone have one, if so what do you recommend? She did mention the Champion co. And I am going to see if my kitchenaid mixer has a juicer attachment available. Thanks for any suggestions. Pam |

Pam, You may ask your ND about barley green or Bluegreen Algae or even alfala tablets. I think it is the chloraphyl in the celery that your ND may be after. I have lupus (which affects joints) and I used algae and now I use barley green..... I do have a champion juicer.. they are spendy... about $400... but before I got the champion I had a Waring brand from Costco and it did a great job....I hope your ND is testing to see if it is possible that you have a food allergy.. often time getting rid of dairy can help the joint pain as well.....How is it going for you? There is a great book out called "healing with wholefoods" by Paul Pitchard.. and it has some great recommendations too..... check your local library!

I have a Brevel juicer
It's loud but you can use larger chunks of fruit/veggies
It strains very well. I also use a second hand strainer if I don't want any pulp
And, for bigger tasks---sepecially for canning purposes, I have a steam juicer. THAT thing is great! It steams fruits/veggies, so there's NO pulp at all!
The Brevel cost roughly 130 and the steam juicer was about 100. Both were internet purchases, so price searcing saved a lot of time |

Thanks for the suggestions, I will ask about the alfalfa and other stuff you mentioned, I have some chlorophyl-I just don't think to put it in my water often enough. We bought a juicer when we were in town a week ago, a Jack Lalanne, it was one of two that were at Bed, Bath and Beyond, which happened to be across from the Babies are Us-where we were shopping for our new grandchild, due any day! I have used it this week to do the celery juice-I am sure it will take a few weeks to see any results. I am looking forward to trying out some other fruits and veggies in the juicer. I will let you know how things progress. Pam |
