I'd like to jump on the bandwagon as well. Less than two weeks ago I started my (grr hate the word "diet"..I like "lifestyle change" better!) My honey bought me a bicycle (haven't been on one in 20 years!)..boy that's a workout, even riding around the neighbohood! I have lost 3.6 lbs. and I'm gaining more muscular legs :D. I've been doing some yoga as well, and of course, eating a lot healthier. Way to go Ladies, let's keep it up!!

Welcome to the Weight Buddies Molly!
I mowed the lawn today. The grass was about 18 inches hight and we have an electric mower that is not self propelled. I can feel the work out in my legs! Hurray! I am going to try and go for a really long bike ride tomorrow or a shorter one perhaps if Nora wants to go as well. Biking is great exercise!

The scale still hasn't budged for me. I really need to ramp up the water. However, last night I went to bed at 9 and didn't wake up until 7!! I have been feeling a bit grumpy and out of sorts and even took a small nap yesterday. Hopefully my body wasn't operating at peak because I was exhausted.

hey on another thread there is this link to a youtube video that talks about a sustainablility challenge.... SO cool. http://youtube.com/watch?v=mCPEBM5ol0Q
Here is what I am thinking. I am going to give this a shot as my "diet plan". as a side note. I dont live on a farm anymore. I am in town... so converting my yard space to an edible garden will be fun! Some of us have talked about doing this kinda thing. so this just makes it more of a "challenge".... So check it out and see that you think...

Hey Ladies!
I am still only down 5 lbs. I am coasting in at 173, but am working on a new exercise regime. I need floor space for it so I am concentrating on getting my house organized to accommodate exercise room. I will be exercising for an hour (ideally) Monday-Friday and giving my body a break on the weekend. I have been drinking more water and taking my vitamins, so I am feeling more energetic and stronger.
I am also debating as to whether I will have the time on Thursdays to ride my bike all the way to campus and back. It is a 10 mile round trip! It sure would save gas until fall sets in, and give me a good work out besides. I am also contemplating buying one of those bike stands that you can put your bike on to turn it into an exercise bike.
How is everyone else doing?

Hey ladies! I'd like to join in with ya here. I was just venting about my aggravation with myself and my weight problem on my blog. It has really gotten to me bad over the last few days, constatnly on my mind. It put in mind of couple of other hard situations I've had to face in the past few years. I overcame those difficult times with alot of prayers and great friends to help me along the way. I know it's time and I am ready to tackle my weight problem.

I knew I had seen a weight topic...I found it! YAY...I just have to share my results after my first 7 weeks in the gym...but a bit of history first so you can really enjoy my success with me :0)
And why I gained this extra weight over the years, you ask? :0) I had the aweful disgusting habit of cigarette smoking..long story short, I QUIT! that was 12 years ago...but the "psychological" part of the addiction was NOT conquered...I replaced the cigarette in my hand and mouth with FOOD. It was convenient and easy and it tasted good. So over these years the extra pounds added on, I turned 40 and my metablolism went on vacation never to be seen again..LOL Now I'm 50!
I made a commitment to the gym...I have worked out 2 hours a day 5 days a week through week 7..I now workout 2 hours, 4 days a week. I have done majority free weight training with a few machines thrown in. This part takes close to 1.5 hours then I do cardio (still working up to 30 minutes) and abdomenal excercises.
I've lost:
4.5 inches in my waist
2 inches in my obliques (that measurement directly under your breasts)
1 inch in my bust
.5 inch in my wrist (I thought that was bizarre but I guess the workout that my forearms have from lifting the weights has done this)
.5 inch in my biceps
.5 inch in my thighs
I have cheekbones again..:0) and also losing in my neck area...
Considering that my main issue is my mid section I am thrilled that I have burned off this much in such a short time. I'm only 5'1" tall so it doesn't take much to "blow me up" if you know what I mean..
I'm working VERY hard girls...
Are there any of you out there doing what I'm doing??? I'd love to hear about it and have someone to talk to about it. I am lucky that I have a husband that is a bodybuilder, has been for going on 22 years and he's a great encourager but it finally took me getting really mad and fed up with myself to finally start doing something about it.
Hope there's someone out there that reads this topic regularly. I'd like to hear from y'all.
