I lost my voice on Saturday night and I'm supposed to be singing at my cousin's wedding this Saturday. Do any of you ladies have any remedies for this kind of thing? It's gotten a bit better now and I'm trying not to worry that it won't be better by Saturday but that bit of worry keeps creeping up. I've been doing hot water with honey and lemon juice 3-4 times a day but beyond that I don't know of any other things that could help. I don't seem to be sick, no cold or flu symptoms, thankfully or not because I might feel a little better about it if I were actually sick... Thank you!

Don't talk, lots of warm tea with honey, no milk products, keep hydrated, nasal spray as well. Wrap a warm rice pack around your throat and maybe massage a little Vicks on there. Hope you get to feeling better!!!
Cheers, Heather

Heather has some great advice! I hope you feel better before Saturday! Also if you HAVE to talk, make sure it is as quiet as possible.

All of the opera singers that I went to school with at Interlochen swor by "throat coat" tea and salt water gargle. And NO talking! None. My roommate went 2 weeks before her senior recital writing notes because her voice was tired and overworked.

I read somewhere that dairy is really bad for phlegm in the body.I avoid it as much as I can on when I am sick. It seems to help.
Also, forgot to add, add some ginger or garlic to some honey with a little water to make it more like syrup and take it like cough syrup.
Cheers, Heather

Well, I think it's a little better today. I'm trying not to talk much and I'm keeping on with my honey and lemon and adding in the salt water gargle and maybe an apple cider vinegar drink. Keeping my fingers crossed and sending up positive thoughts :)

Just wanted to give an update...my voice is doing much better, not 100% but I am sure it's going to get me through the rehearsal tonight and then the wedding tomorrow. I appreciate all of the suggestions, thank you!
