hey, every farm has to start somewhere! I don't have a big farm either, just a few acres in town, but I keep it up as best I can and find lots of ways to "farm-ify" it : ) Glad you've joined up!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes. I'll have to try to sneak a picture of the watering can the next time I'm in Belk.

Welcome Dionne---I admire people that can do container gardening. I have tried tomatoes in a pot-no luck. I tried potatoes--same luck. I do pretty well with flowers.
Hope you get lots of advice here. It's been fun for me.

So glad your here. I haven't seen the watering can, but you can bet I'll stop by Belk to see MJ other items. I don't have a farm but I have flower gardens. I have a vegtable garden on another peice of property. I adore container gardens, I'm hoping to fix some soon. I am so looking forward to knowing you.

Welcome Dionne!

That is how I got introduced to MJF as well! Through the books and firstly through the magazine. I think you will love it on the forum, everyone here has so much knowledge to share! I know that if I ever have a question about something one of the farmgirls will have a quick and wonderful answer for me!

I go to a Belk store about once a month (instead of weekly because of the gas prices!!!!!!!!!!). I'll be anxious for my next visit to see the MJF products. Thanks for including that information.

Welcome, Dionne. I enjoyed reading your introductory post. Who knows, there may be a farmgirl around the Farmgirl Connection who just happens to have a spare watering can for barter. Funny how those things can, and do, happen! Looking forward to hearing more about you!

Hey there Dionne!!

Nice to have ya! Where in Florida are you?

NEIGHBORS!!

Katee!! We must be Awfully Close too girl! i'm so sorry! i haven't ever seen you around either!! Gosh where have I been??

As far as Container gardening.. I have to be the worst.. I think i may have tried strawberries & have not had such bad luck.. & flowers are fine.. but Veggies.. forget it.. But my mom.. What a hoot.. she can grow ANYTHING (& DOES) in a 5 gallon bucket.. Like what you find at home depot or something.. she stake up her tomatos & goes to town.. she just kills me!!

Give me an old rotting Horse trough now & we're talking a whole new ball game.. Green beans.. on Poles.. Yee ha! Flowers galore.. Perfect!

Good to see ya around Girls!!

Welcome Dionne! Good luck locating your watering can.

Being a farmgirl is a frame of mind as much as anything. You can have a farmgirl attitude in the city without owning a farm. Many aspects of farmgirl life are domestic in nature. So happy "farmgirling".

Oh Man!! Aren't Bell Peppers SO Expensive Right Now!!!!!
I was at the regular Grocery Store.. a couple week ends ago..
& they were &1.99 a pound! so ONE bell Pepper came to be MORE then a Pound!!! I decided i needed to grow my own!! But i just don't have much Lock with These.. i'm willing to sacrifice a few to d=see what i can come up with though!

You know Cheryl (I think it's Cheryl 246) is in Largo..!!
We keep saying we're going to get together!! & Sheryl-Lyn..(Sewgirlie) has parents In Punta Gorda.. She makes it down quite often.. AND Denise..( Levis Grammy i think...?? ) USED to live on Dover!!! Her Mom's Still here!! So We ain't Entirely all by our Lonesome selves down here!! & we have our Sweet little Naomi Michelle up in Panama City with her Mom Tina Michelle!
