o.k. .. one quick question .. before i hit the bed .. i LOVE reading all your answers and getting to know everyone a lit bit better.

so .. here t'is:

IF you HAD to choose a different state than the one you were brought up in .. (to be brought up in) .. which state would it be?

hmmmmmmmmm .. even I will have to think upon that one .. i'll let it be my 'fall asleep thinkin' about' question.

i'll check your answers tomorrow .. but remember .. you MUST choose a different state! (oh .. and tell us why)

xo

Virginia. Yep definitely Virginia. We lived there for a few years when we were in the military and I loved it there. The seasons are beautiful. Of course they are beautiful most every state but I really loved being there.

It's hard to imagine growing up anywhere but here in Kentucky but I think it would have been cool to have grown up in a New England state like Vermont in the countryside. It's my dream vacation to go there in the Fall.

If not Ohio - I love Colorado, especially Glenwood Springs. Please check it out on the internet.

The mountains are red and beautiful, the Colorado River runs through it, Doc Holiday is buried there, it has the largest natural hot spring pool. The people of the community are real nice too.

Hmmm...that's a tough one because there are so many places that I love! I am currently obsessed with Oklahoma, so I think that would be my answer. I can deal with heat alot better than cold, but they still have the change of seasons there so I think I'd be okay. I would love to live on the prairie, but be close to the mountains, too. Plus, all the cowboys running around there aren't too shabby either!

I used to want to live on the Oregon coast, but I don't think I could deal with the rain. Then, I thought Montana was the obvious choice, but I think I need to be farther south, so for now, I must say Oklahoma.

Well I grew up in Vermont which was great and amazing. I guess if I couldn't have Vermont I would choose Virginia in the area where my parents now live.

Well, I have to agree with Lainey - if it has to be somewhere other than Kentucky - I'd definitely choose one of the New England States. I got to visit Maine and New Hampshire about 3 years ago and it was breathtaking. We were there in the fall and it would be hard to explain the beauty of it all. And visiting all the lighthouses in Maine - it is a trip I will cherish forever. So that's my answer, New Hampshire, Vermont or Maine. Sorry, I couldn't pick jus' one. Cathy

Well Frannie...since I was brought up in all of them it seems...LOL..In the end I choose Tennessee.

I'm an Air Force brat was never in the same school more than 2 years..have had more addresses than the law should allow..RITF Then as an adult just seemed for one reason or another to continue to travel.

I always wondered what it would have been like being a "hometown girl"....still have all of the dollies I played with, plus all the important stuff that gets lost when you move all the time.

So now my goal is to get to the Smokey's in Tennessee, buy a cabin and wake up one day and say, "I've been here 20+ years"

I would say Kentucky! Lovely seasons, longer growing season, not as much snow as Wisconsin, Lovely roads to ride our motorcycles, antique's, and no helmet law. I do wear my helmet but like to have to choice to. I could go on and on.

Well, I do love Kentucky, but I also love Maine...as close to Cornwall, England as I could get :)...then there's Indiana, Massachusets and Virginia!!!
