I have a appointment at 1pm today to get my hair cut.
I am on pins & needles, I haven't gotten my hair cut for 17 years. I have only had trims. I have decided I need a change....I am getting about 8 inches cut{{I think}}}
I will post a before and after later on.
Send me some good hair {{vibes}}

Good luck with your haircut. If you are getting 7 or more inches taken off, you can donate it to the Locks of Love foundation. They use the hair to make wigs for those in cancer treatments. Here is more info on it: http://www.locksoflove.org/

I hope that all goes well :) I've had long hair and cut it super short. Now I just keep it short - less maintenance, less shampoo, so I guess you could say less is more.

Sending good hair mojo your way. Well, you know you don't HAVE to go through with it if you don't want, but Jessica has a great idea on what to do with the extra hair :)

WOW! I only "trim" mine about once a year. I just got a bunch cut off mine. It was probably down to my belt line and I got it cut to just above my bra strap. I just told the lady to cut off as much as she wanted to as long as I could still put it in a pony tail. It looks and FEELS so much better and I have gotten TONS of compliments!

I am sure you will love it. Have you considered donating what you cut off to Locks of Love? I wanted to do mine but becausse of the long layers I had, some of it didn't meet the length requirement that they need to make the wigs.

Here is a link to the requirements. http://www.locksoflove.org/donate.html

Good luck and I can't wait to see pictures.

Jessica the Locks website says it has to be 10 inches! I thought it was 7 too but when I went to down;oad the form before my haircut last week it said 10! I guess they have recently changed it.

I didn't realize that they changed it. One of my dear friends who was recently diagnosed with cancer ended up cutting off her hair super short before starting chemo. That way her hair could be used for other patients in the future. I remember it use to be 7 inches, so it must have been recently changed to 10 inches.

One of my twin daughters just had 11 inches of her hair cut off and donated it to Locks of Love. She felt so happy after doing it! Did anyone see Hillary Swank cut her hair off on Oprah for the same cause? You go girls! What a wonderful, kind and thoughtful way to help someone! Susan

Hey Bridgette, I hope it all went well...you inspired me to call and make my appointment. I too got 7 inches cut off, but that really didn't make a dent in my hair :) I feel better though, and I bet you do too!!!!

Bridgette- how did you do? I hope you are ok!!! I once had to cut my middle of the back hair off to a bob when I joined the military, so I know how you feel!!

Cheers,
Heather

hey bridge darlin' .. dooooooooo let us know! i stopped by my 'hairdresser' today and told her that 'i'd had quite enuff FUN' .. that i want another change .. and i'm going in next week to have it 'darkened' ... i usually am sorry when i do that .. but we'll see .. i can always 'bleach' it again .. then i'll see what inch long hair looks like on me when it all breaks off!

is your hair 'natural'.. or do put color IN or take it OUT?

can hardly wait to hear how you like it! quite a change .. but fun and refreshing! xo

Sorry for the delay.....
After getting our hair cut mom and I went to Wendy's and had frostys and then went shopping. It was a fun day! I just love my hair!! John also liked it and that was a big relief to me, he always said he loved long hair so I wasn't sure how he'd like it. He said I looked 25!! I sure do love him!! Then he left before I remembered I needed a after picture.I had to try and take a after picture by myself ( that is really tricky) I will spare you the count of deleted pics of my elbows and all kinds of other crazy shots!!The after pics could have been much better, I will have someone take some more tomorrow.

But here you go, this includes the befores and afters.

Such a great look for you, Bridgette...I love my long hair, too, but it really can be kind of "dull" after a time. What a great spring do!
