My Sheltie, Zelda, had four puppies early this morning. They are very cute and doing well. Tonight I was busy blogging about it when I heard baby sounds. I thought it was a puppy at first, but I thought it was coming from the wrong direction. My hearing is terrible, but high pitched sounds like baby sounds I can hear. Then I thought it was kittens- cats have kittens under our trailer all the time. I walked outside to see if I could hear it out there and it was louder. I could tell it was coming from the barn so I grabbed a flashlight and took off running. One of my goats had two babies! I knew she was pregnant, but she wasn't that big so I didn't have her separated yet. The horses usually kill the baby goats if I don't get them out in time, so it was a good thing I heard, or they might not have made it through the night. I took them to my camper, which I had my husband park really far away from the barn, because I was expecting to use it for chickens next week. My back is killing me from dragging the mama goat all the way to the camper because she didn't want to come. She wanted to stay in the barn and eat hay. But I brought her some hay, water, and grain, so now she is happy. Tomorrow I'll take some pics- they're very cute!

Oh my they are sooo cute. Puppies are just some of the sweetest things!! ANd well so are goats, I adore goats okay, I love most animals and all babies human or furry, LOL. No snakes and spiders and bugs allowed though. And possum while cute and silvery when young are just nasty when they are older.
Anyway congrats on all the babies. Amy

The white one is bashful, but the other one is already charging at me. I've never had a baby goat like that before. Usually they are scared and stay away- not this one, though. She runs right at me. If I didn't already have a goat named Charger, that would be her name.

ALL those babies are precious! Oh my, I just love those little kids, though. I wanna snuggle right up with them!
Isn't funny how "sleek" those pups look and then one day "poof"! comes all the hair!!!!!

Those puppies are cute, but those goats are amazing. I guess because they are already wide awake and moving around. The puppies look so sweet, little fur covered sausages, I'm sure you'll be posting more pictures of them as they start wobbling around. When I had my first child at age 34, my friend David, a lifelong bachelor, said "Let's see, they open their eyes in about six months, right?" It is such fun for me to see all these wonderful fur babies.....Karin
