Yippee!!! The Mini Apron Arrival Dry Spell has been Broken!!

Came home from work Early today & Viola' a Nice little Package from our own Sweet Little
Chick Pea Nay Nay..!!

Ok.. I'll stop acting like Nell.. it's From Naomi!
ADORABLE Girls!
Sweet little Green Accents.. Yellows & Turqouise (Seeing a trend with that color this time a round..) WHICH makes me think of yet ANOTHER THEME!! A COLOR Theme!!!!!
How Cool would THAT Be? I mean can you just imagine ALL the variations of BLACK that we could come up with??
ok.. well I'm hearing crickets again..
Doesn't have to be Black! I was just using that as an example! Could be ANY color! But can you just imagine a whole Mini Tree full of ONE color full of mini's?? Cool idea.. huh?

ANYWAY!! Back to the Chick Pea's .. I mean Naomi's..
Full of Flowers.. & Butterflies & Ladybugs too!
So sweet! I Love em Pumpkin!

ok kathie real funny about the pic but youd get a better one now cause i am starting to turn into a smurf from the bruising but my minis are all done and in record time for someone that had oral surgery and a bouncy two month old. ok so i am soooo impressed with myself.(just so everyone knows this is not a normal for me, so dont expect it again that fast)
how about black and white minis, or strictly polka dot minis those would be the bomb!
oh dear i feel myself being pulled into the mini vortex never to return to the sanity of the real world again.....

Patriotic is red/white/blue that's a tri-color theme!!

yippee...I'm sewing doll clothes, buying old used, blind and crippled dollies to dress. Also ready for more mini's. Some of these dollies will wear them theme by theme just like my kitchen dish soap bottles do.
:-) I only put the Halloween and Christmas minis up and all the rest I have ever received are hanging up or worn somewhere.
Sometimes I really need the presence of you gals when I am alone and life is tough. Maybe that's the magic of having them hung up to see everyday.

Now to read more farmgirl posts..
luv, Linda

Well I'm thinking The Dollies can go two way's Linda..
This may be the Gemini in me of course..
But.. we could go with the "OHHhhh lets fix these babies right up & take them back to the way they SHOULD be!!" ORRrrrrr We could go with the.. " Ooooooohhh Let's Let them stay all bruised & broken & Go with that.. because after all who hasn't been..? & let them show their battle wounds of life.. & even AMPLIFY these details on the Girls! Really bring out all their flaws now from their tattered little lived!!! Doesn't mean that they can't now be happy.. but why can't they be a bit scraped up?
This may be fun too..
Could be therpuetic.. but then.. what do I know.. could be down right Depressing!!!

Fun stuff to think about! Sort of Like Jess's Ideas of the repurposed Barbie Dolls that makes me want to run!!

Kathie, I love the way you think...ya make me smile.
The blind dollie looks scary with just holes in her face where eyes should be, so I'll give her dark glasses. I think the rest of her at least stays in one piece. I think my home will be covered with dollies sitting around and mini aprons all over the walls.... what do ya think?
Danny boy is only 7 so he doesn't mind yet.LOL
He has his own room anyway!
Ebay did have a Madame Alexander doll originally made with a cast on her leg and a crutch. That was cute too.
We all know that sick and broken women need pretty clothes and loving homes.

Hey Linda, very well put "sick and broken women need pretty clothes and loving homes"

I like that you are rescueing those dollies girl. I do have to admit with the blind one, I would proably have to find glasses or fix her eyes.

Good morning Kathie girl, yes that time would be correct!!!!!!! LOL
Hey I am not the morning person girls but I am attempting to do better, besides finishing up the waistbands and ours will finally be in the mail today. Can we say Happy Dance!!!!!!

Good morning Kathie, yes that time would be correct!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I've always liked these dolls. http://www.oneandonlydolls.com/elven.htm
A fantasy "take" on Barbie.
Victorian styled dolls kinda give me the creeps.
I really admire your mission, Linda.

Those are Beautiful Dolls aren't they Bonne? Barbie's never were very realistic.. & always could tend to give most normal girls a complex.. leaving expectations WAY too high! Not that THESE are any more true.. but they are definatly more creative to play with for the imagination..!
Do see alot of everyday Playing house with THOSE Babies.. do you?

Yep Linda.. I love the idea of the dark glasses.. sort of a Helen Keller look to her maybe? Who knows.. maybe you can start your own line of Special Needs dolls!
Broken & missing Limbs.. to Broken Hearts.. All with a litle story behind them!

Denise your Fine Pumpkin! Still PLENTY out there Yet Sister..

We might outta start the Patriotic one soon though.. let me get through the long week end.. see how many more we get in by Tuesday.. then start a new sign up for that one too!
I have had another Swap idea that I've wanted to do since last summer.. I've mulled it around a few times.. but we've all been so busy.. i just never brought it up.. all of us really Love to sew.. So it would be SOOOooo easy..
It's a Throw Pillow Swap.. We'd each just make a pair.. & swap with just one person.. I have made some REALLY adorable Pillows in the past.. & when you thinks of all the cute & funky things you could dream up..& embelishments! The Sky's the limits! I don't know.. just thought I
d bounce it off you all.. my Girls & see what you thought 1st.. i think i mentioned it to Jess before.. But we were all so crazy getting ready for Karin's last summer.. then so much just always seems to be happening.. What do you think?

Feed back please???

Just an idea~I'm thinking that we could do more intensive swapping on the pillow theme if we sent them "unstuffed". That way we could sign up several people to make several pillow casings for swapping. We could "fix" a certain dimension parameter or just leave it open to any wild and crazy shape and the recipient would be responsible for stuffing. Make them suitable for regular fiberfill stuffing readily available at Joann's , Walmart etc etc. That way we could get several "ready to stuff" cases in a flat rate box. It's rather ambitious though, and maybe you were just looking for a more low-key activity with the "one-on-one" swapping.

Yes.. i like the idea of sending them UN stuffed.. & maybe the recipients then buying their OWN pillow form.. so we'd go with a standard Pillow Size.. I'll check out the dimentions.. & then Each girl will make a Set of TWO! & well each just make TWO Pillows.. a matched set.. or there about.. & we'll swap with just One other person..
I've made some really fun pillows in the past..

& I REALLY love alot of pillows lying around.. alomost as much as i do throw rugs!!!

Hey Jess,
I work 20 hours a week at the little local Garden Nursery, called "Royal Garden Nursey". It's a family owned & operated nursery and the family is wonderful to work for. I am their only paid employee, they have a few chruch friends who "work in trade for plants". I amy learning so much from them and in turn I am trying to encourage them to consider purchasing Organic Veggie plants next year to sell to the public. They have only been in business for 3 1/2 years....
hugz,

Linda, I think the possibilities of your dollies are endless. What fun. I bought a big old baby doll a couple of years ago, she had a composition head and limbs, and a day or two after i got her, my son managed to drop her and now she has a big flap on her head, I've flipped it back and stuffed her head with cheesy fake flowers and she looks great to me. Someday i might glue her head back together and make her some shabby clothes....Pillows? Where did i pass over a mention of these before.....
