Hello! I need to buy a new Iron and have no idea of which one to buy. I would be using it for sewing purposes mainly and there will be lots of tight areas to get into. I'm really bad at buying small appliance type things. I always get the wrong one or it's a lemon. Thanks.

Mine is a Rowenta Professional Commercial Grade...it's a little bit "heavy" but it does a great job for everything...it has a nice long "nose" that gets into creases and folds nicely. It was pricey, but worth every bit of it, though we sometimes blow a fuse if I've got too many "things" going at the same time when I plug it in :)

Wow...I will have to look at THAT brand. I have had the same old cheap iron (works great) for about 12 years now. I am sure it cost no more than $15. when I bought it. I guess I got lucky. But...I can't imagine it will last too much longer.

Rowenta are the best. Using a 40 or 50% off coupon at Jo-Ann is likely the best price, unless you find one at a thrift store, which I do often. Someone on Reno Freecycle was giving a "deluxe ironing board and quality iron" away today, said she found out she didn't like to iron. I thought it funny to read. Ronna |

I have a cordless iron...don't know which brand. I really love not having that cumbersome cord to work around. Never heard of "Rowenta"...I'll have to look at it next time! Rhonda

My mom swears by her Rowenta. I am sporting a cheesy lightweight cheapy brand for the time being, but there is a Rowenta in my future for sure :) |

never heard of a Rowenta but will look into one for sure. I'm with the lady who does not like to iron and would not have one if I did not craft. My type of ironing is turning the dry back on for a warm up and then a good shake. Or hang out side to dry. Thanks for all you help. Have a GREAT DAY!!!!

I've used the Rowenta Perfect iron for about 5 years. It's a 1600 watt model that will trip a breaker if too much is on it.. It's a great iron..it's the largest iron I've ever used. I'm old fashioned in the steam department (use a spray bottle of lavender or egyptian rose oil infused water) but the steam feature works great when I have used it.
I enjoy the aromatherapy while ironing..

I like my Rowenta to,BUT I dont like that it turns off automaticly if you let it sit to long, like when your your sewingand ironing things at the same time. At the time I didnt know it shut off, so you might check that before you purchase yours. But then again its a good deal if you accidently leave it on. I use mine alt while putting together quilts. Aromatherapy while ironing...what a good idea! :)
