Last year, it wasn't so terrible, but this year, our dogs have taken to rolling in deer poop, laying in the little "water" trap that the former owners called a land level birdbath and just being all around disgusting!
For those of you with more than one dog, do you stop them individually at the door and wipe them down? I bought those really expensive doormats from Plow and Hearth (the dirt trappers?) but I really can't see that they're doing much.

Hey Jonni! It sounds like your dogs are talking to my dogs for activity ideas. You know we have Aussies, who get everything in their fur. While they are NEVER Westminster quality clean, we do a reasonable job with microfiber cloths soaked in a solution of Shaklee's Basic H(this is the cleaner that was on Oprah's favorites show) It really does eliminate odors(even skunk)& has a neutral smell. It is kinda pricy, but VERY concentrated. I have a gallon that has lasted me over 2 yrs. If you are interested, let me know. (no sales pitch I promise, just a really great all purpose GREEN cleaner) |

That sounds great, Lisa. I'm game for anything! Bad Seed has had 3 baths in a week and half...that's not good for her, but niether is that dead/poop/gopher smell she's got going on, either! I actually thought Rose's sable "highlights" were getting lighter with the coming of warmer weather, but actually, it's dried mud that looks so "blonde"!!! Disgusting!!!!
I'd love to know more about the Shaklee's...do they have other product lines?

I have the same problem, but with goose poo! My lab likes to rub it up under his collar, so even if we wipe him down when he comes in, there's still that lingering aroma au naturel! erg!
