When bills seem overwhelming and the money is temporarily but, severely limited I lay in bed trying to come up with creative ways to rearrange payments or make more money to get the monkeys off my back and never seem to come up with anything. I look at the clock and keep telling myself I need to get some sleep so think of something pleasant. I start thinking about gardening or hiking in the forest, but somehow my mind always comes back to the problem at hand.

Here's a question: how do you turn your mind off?

A little Valerian tea? Or tincture of Valerian with some honey may relax you enough to get your mind to relax too. That may sound pretty nasty tasting and heavy, but it works for me sometimes. I know alllllll about the bill problems. We are having them now due to my sweetie being sick for three weeks and not being able to work...just how DO you pinch a penny harder?

You can just try to read too, sometimes that disconnects the spinning thought process and lets you get sleepy naturally.

*hug*
get some sleep kiddo

Hi, Annika! You're up early. I thought about Valerian, I have capsules, but it was too late to take it since I wouldn't get a full 6-8 hours of sleep by the time I thought of it. As a tea? I don't know if I could handle the smell as a tea!

All of my books are in the bedroom and if I even used a small flashlight, it would wake dh. That was kind of silly move to put them all in there. I thought reading all the posts and links to other sites might help. Instead, I realized after posting a couple of times that it's now March and got myself all fired up about starting my tomatoes and other warm weather veggies.

Now, I'm all rearing to go plant my seeds!

HaHa! I have to go plant some overlooked crocus and daffy bulbs as they are now trying to sprout. I'm impatiently waiting for dawn. Yesterday I was looking at the creek flooding into my front yard and considering what might survive seasonal flooding. I can always plant more willows. I have two huge golden willows and they love "wet feet"

What seed companies do you buy from?
I'm going to get more seeds from Sand Hill preservation, Sending off an order tomorrow
I'm trying to buy mostly organic and heirloom varieties, I hate to think of all of the old good ones dying out to new shiny hybrids. It worries me.

What 'maters are you growing this year?

I ordered most of my seeds from Jung's. They had a great variety of heirloom seeds this year and I really love their products and customer service is great. I ordered my tomato seeds from Totally Tomatoes. I'm growing Amish Paste because they did really well here 2 seasons ago. I tried Romas last year and was really disappointed at how long it took for them to ripen. I'm also growing Russian Anna for slicing and Tumbling Tom cherry tomatoes just for fun.

I hope the creek doesn't creep up too far into your yard!
