This summer. Due to the fact that my baby sister is going through a terrible divorce and my fil is having some major health issues- he won't be with us for many more years. We have decided that since we don't own a house we should move back for a season. Are there any farm girls here from Northern California? We have family in Lodi, Valley Springs, Lockeford, Jackson.. We will be looking in Lockeford, Linden, Acampo, Lodi (in the country).
I am sad to leave the 2 farm girls I have met locally: Ronna and Theresa, but so hope to meet some local farm girls once we get there.. I am sure looking forward to some authentic mexican food! Lockeford and Lodi both have lots of Mexican farm workers.. Lodi has a huge Mexican food store- they have a salsa bar, guacamole bar, homemade tortillas etc.. yum!

Blessings, Debra

Debra! Hate to loose you to california. Summer is a few months off, hopefully we can get together before you go....I am so thankful for computers and emailing. We can still keep in touch. May the California state welcome you with sunshine, grace and mercy!

Theresa, We definitely have to get together! As many times as possible. We don't know if we will move the beginning or the end of the summer. We have to find the right house- that will be the deciding factor. I just got off the phone with my sister who is going through the divorce.. Her girls are having a hard time of it. And they aren't showing mom any affection or compassion.. I can't wait to get there and give them girls some love and a good talking to! :-)

Amanda, I grew up in Manteca- I am very familiar with Modesto. I also lived in Ceres for awhile. Before we moved to Nevada we lived in Pine Grove- it was just too far from my family- I hardly ever saw them. And we were far from good shopping. That's why we are sticking with areas close to Lodi/Stockton..
Our families just need us right now- California is not our first choice, nor is it where we want to settle down for good- but... since we are only renters we just feel we ought to be there for our families right now.

Oh Debra, I am so sorry for your sister and her children. Divorce isn't easy. To have family support is a must. Nice that you have the freedom to move and be there for you family.

Sorry you're family is suffering right now. Too bad that you won't make it up this way. Hopefully, you'll get SOME snow in N. Cal.!

Probably no snow- but Idaho is still on our list. We know (unless God provides a miracle) that we won't be settling in CA forever. This is just a season.
Theresa, divorce is so hard on the children.. my heart is breaking for them.. I am glad we are in this position so we can be there for them.

That sounds wonderful! You all know the area better than I- is there something really wonderful we can do? A tea house, antique stores etc... it would be fun! Should get Ronna in on this!
