After I get done washing a load of dishes, I always like to clean my garbage disposal unit. I first peel and eat a lovely ripe orange and then I put the peel into the disposal and run with hot water going down the drain for about 1 minute. The citrus and hot water combine to flush away any oils and fats left behind, while the fiber from the peel helps wisk all the little food particles away. I get a lovely orange smell in my kitchen and no icky rotting smell hours later because of nasty food caught in the disposal or pipes.
