In just a couple weeks we'll be gathered up again! Our focus for March is Rw food and Nutrition. The ladies are invited to bring a raw food dish for lunch, and wear their prettiest apron, too *U*
We will look at some kitchen equipment; food dehydrator, Vita Mix, grain grinder, etc. and talk aboout a few good cook books and uncook books, eating organic and local.

The ladies are once again to bring their handmade and homegrown goodies to sell or barter after the gathering.

And, as usual, we will serve Tea.

April will be two Saturdsays together for quilt making. Cathy K. will teach us some tricks and teach us to make our own quilts in just two evenings!

May will be old fashioned lye soap making.

Look forward to great adventures!

We would love it.....We should have a full day, live music, and hopefully a guest speaking on Bio-diesel in the valley.... If any o the farmgirls have "businesses" have them bring thier cards and samples of what they do we can put it at the booth...............We have a lovely pizzaria on main street - for $10 bucks you can get a good lunch in a very beautiful environment..... If Hubby's and farmgirls wanna gather after the market..LOTS OF FUN! To be had....

hmm...ever tried vinegar or lemon cheese? Cheddar? I have made lots of stuff, but really come back to feta and chevre. Cream cheese, buttermilk, yogurt...there's so much to do with milk. Very fun and yummy projects.

Last Spring my hubby and I went to CA for our oldests sons graduation of bootcamp from the Marine Corp. On the way down we met with Mark mcphee of Organic pastures - His operations is amazing! One of thier friends has started a raw milk farm in touchet... I am planning on visiting their place as well.. I have visited with them on the phone and they will be coming to out local farmers market.... It is so "fun" to see more and more folks getting involved with the raw milk..............I recently sat down with my grandad who used to work at a dairy - "back in the day" - So interresting to hear all his stories...My husband use to work at Ferdinans (WSU) when we were students there... very fun!

I bet in your Grandad's dairying days the milk was delivered raw...do you think? Maybe not if it was a big operation.

I love that we get raw milk from our goats...this winter, while out of milk, I started buying milk again...at the store and some local raw cow's milk. My two oldest kids got sick again with asthma and allergies so bad that one had to go to the ER and then several follow up visits after that. They just can't handle cw's milk and especially store bought dead milk! That was just from having it in theri morning oatmeal.

Grandpa did say it was all raw... weird how twisted the world has gotten.. anyway, hey I found out last night that we will have a gospel bluegrass concert in the market on the Farmgirl round up day May 24th.. How sweet is that?????? I see that you home school - I home schooled my two oldest until High School - now they are 21,20... Cole my 16 year old is in Public school and Matt my 5th grader was in public this year, but we are thinking he needs to come back and home school through middle school at least.. So I will be diving back into it.. I am an bit nerveous as it has been a few years........But it feels right! My other raw milk friend from here is a homeschooling mom, too.. SO I am sure she will be a good resource as well....
