Anyone reading it? River Falls Wisconsin is reading it as the yearly 'community reads' book.
Great timely cultural insight. I'm 1/5 of the way though.
The first part has been a hard read, it talks a lot about his sister's struggle with seizures (from encephalitis as a child) My son also has seizures from encephalitis as a child, so this hasn't been the stress-reliever I hoped it would be. But there are some great messages, and opportunities to donate to change the world.

Alicia, I read it a few months ago and learned so much from it. Watching and listening to news about Pakistan now is very different for me. Mortenson's gift of schools to the villages made such an impact. I wondered if anyone else read the book.

Hi Alicia, I just started this book a couple days ago... I don't think I'm as far along as you, but I am enjoying it. The reviews on this book are awesome, so I have high hopes that we will be loving it in no time!!! Susan

What a great book! My book club read it a few months ago. One of the few books that everyone in the club liked. Greg Mortenson is so inspiring. It's amazing what one person can do. |
