Tonight, I was wondering how easy it would be for "him" to find me on the net, so I googled myself. When I typed in just "Corrine" I got 17 pages worth of listings. Now, I always thought my name was kind of odd, so I was very suprised by that result.
Oh, BTW...I didn't find me at all!

I kind of lucked out...I have a really common first name (Jessica), but my last names have singled me out. My maiden name was Roesner (pronounced reese-ner), and my married name is Yonkovit (pronounced exactly how it looks). I tried what you tried and Googled myself; my work website, MJ Farm website, and an obituary for my grandfather are all that came up. |

I'm one of the millions of Jennifers born in the 70's. :(
We have some beautiful family names in my family, I really wish my mother had picked one of those instead. My name doesn't fit me in the least...it's such a trendy name and I'm - well, I'm not trendy!

On here obviously we have a few! But, in my own life there are hardly any Mary Jane's that I know of. When I was in school there was one other, and that was it all through school. I have no middle name either my name is Mary Jane period. Two words but one name. That is why I ws so happily surprised when I saw MaryJane's book, another MJ and a farm and nature lover too!!How cool was that!

Not only is my first name very common, but my last name, also. There are 6 Lisa's just in my town of 450 people. I know of several other Lisa's with the same last name as mine. I used to be hounded by some credit agency for one of them. My records at the university I went to were always getting mixed up with another gal who was a nursing major because we had EXACTLY the same name including the middle name.

When I google my name..first and last.. (well, Jenny, not Jennifer, which I have never gone by) it comes up as the last person they used the ducking stool in the early 1800's, and as a leader of a dance group..scottish dancing I think, and then me...which surprized me. Several more posts about that ducking school thing...THAT Jenny must have been pretty naughty!!

In my 5th grade class, there were three of us named Jessica...and we all had brown hair and we all wore glasses. So we were each called a variation of that name. There are a few Jessica/Jessie/Jess here on the board too. I was named after my great grandparents for my first and middle name. Jessica and Jennifer were very popular over the years and it never failed that I had teachers that would call me Jennifer. It always irked me when they didn't get it right. Anyone get called another name besides their own name by others?

Yup. I get Jessica a lot. But more than any other, I get called Michelle.
Of course, all the little old ladies in town call me Becky... my mama's name.

My name is not common at all...and that's unfortunate, because when I google myself, everything I've done comes up--now, now, don't jump to conclusions--it's nothing illegal, but a lot of Cincinnati Enquirer articles about my husband and I and various benefits we did for animal shelters at the club he used to run, mentions in blogs about the Cincy music scene. Stuff like that.

Jessica..yep..I used to get called Jeannie alot...Jenny wasn't common way back when I was in school....more for kids your age!! My oldest son (who is 30) had 3 Jenny/Jennifers in his class...and at least as many Jessicas!! And I always get called Jennifer now...until I correct people. I have learned to say that NO one calls me that..otherwise if they like it better they keep on calling me Jennifer. sigh. I think the name is fine..just isn't MY name..haha

Sherry: Well, my mom thought she was being original til the Frankie Valle song came out. Note to the other "Sherry.i.'s"" Don't you just hate that. When strange men start singing that to you? - One time, I was a bartender/waitress, and this man, being as obnoxious as possible the entire time, kept singing the song to me then asked for extra sherry for his cream of crab soup...So I licked my finger and stuck in his soup bowl! I would have been fired, and honestly expected to be, except his wife howled with laughter and told the manager that he deserved what he got.
I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by. ~anon |

My first name is uncommon
Not too many annas out there but 2 in the section where I;m working. It gets kind of confusing, so we go by either anna michele or anna marie
My maiden name is a double L Willson. Not many of those at all
Guess the double L got dropped at some point. Happy to know my brother has 2 boys to carry on the name
We found a double L years ago in Customs going through Sydney. The lady who stamped our passports was also a double L Willson Pretty cool! |

Everyone calls me Toni, but my real name is Antoinette, so that is not common at all. Couple that with my maiden name of Overturff and my married name of Lovelady and you get a VERY uncommon name!! I have never had to worry about confusion over someone else having my name, just misspelling. Or people thinking I was a guy. |

I am a Linda---In the forties that was the most used name for a baby girl (John for boys--guess what my brother's name is)I always put my inital with the Linda because there are so many of us.
Today the name is an old name and I don't see it used as much. In large group of women there is usually another Linda and we are about in the same age range.

I have loved the name Annika since I was a kid and saw a Pippi Longstocking movie. There was a girl in it named Annika. |

I've always loved the name Annika as well. There is something so pretty about it. As for me...Elizabeth is pretty common, and so is Elizabeth Ann, which is fine by me. I love having a simple, old-fashioned name. It fits my personality. Lots of nicknames to choose from, too! I just don't like being called Liz, as it somehow doesn't suit me. I think that's because they called me Liz in school, before my parents made the very wise decision to pull me out and homeschool me. Ever since then, I've been trying to convince friends and family to call me Elizabeth and give up on the nicknames! Though I don't mind it when my cousin calls me 'Betta.
