My moms group and I were supposed to meet up at a park by the fire station to look at the engines and then play on the toys. It ended up being rainy today so they moved it to a Mcdonalds Playland instead.. it was total insanity in there! I'm amazed no one was hurt! I was really suprised to see how many mothers just let their kids run wild.

Even if McDonalds is on my yuck list, I can understand it being fun for the the older kids.. yeah you are 7 or 8 you can fend for yourselves and probably like the independence... but there were a bunch of really little guys in there while the parents were in the restaurant part eating.. My oldest girl is 22 months and very petite, and there were kids her same size just wandering around picking up fries off the floor and stuff. There was so much yelling and screaming in such a small place.

Kaylee was actually trying to create some order in there.. she was walking around saying her newest phraise "Stop it!" when ever some one started yelling. Halsey was fine but I was holding her.

I read another post where someone had mentioned no one paying attention to their kids anymore.. and that made me think of our experience today.

I am with ya on this one Bobbi! I cringed when I let my youngest as a toddler play at MC Donalds horror ground. She was tiny and petite too, and would end up getting sick after playing there. The place was a breeding ground for every "bug" around. It is amazing to watch the utter lack of concern or parental instincts in places like that!

McDonald's playlands are disgusting. I quit taking my kids there a long time ago when I notified the management that someone's child had "wet" at the entrance of the ball pit and they didn't send anyone to clean it up. It made me start thinking about all the things done in the actual ball area that were never attended to either. You might as well let your kids walk barefoot on rusty nails or play with petri dishes of bacteria. And all that without mentioning the way the kids talk!

McDonalds is on my yuck list. The food is horrible except maybe french fries but still my kids like to go. I RARELY let my kids play on any restaurant toys because they are just flat out nasty. Like LJRphoto said, it is a petri dish, as if they don't bring home enough bugs from school but it is sad that we can't even let our kids play without worrying what sickness they will get. When I have been to the playlands, I seriously think I'm the only parent in there. THere is NO WAY my kids will be out of my sight or even listening range, I don't understand some people and their parenting skills.

My daughter and I and her girl sometimes go to Chick-Fil-A for lunch and I see moms who come there just to let their kids run wild while they drink coffee. My grand-daughter just stood in the play area (which smelled really bad) and looked in amazement as kids yelled and pushed. She had never seen anything quite like it, and then she calmly came over to us and said "go home please".

I always think of all the germs on that stuff...I bet they never disinfect the play equipment. You can see the grease marks and fingerprints on the screens of the games...Yuck!
Maybe I am just a germ-a-phobic~~~~

No your not a germaphobe herblady! I never reposted after I mentioned my kids black socks but she got her first really wicked cold about 2 days after playing in there. We are totally against those places now. For christmas and birthdays we've been asking for contributions into their Gymboree membership instead of toys so they can play there where the teachers wash everything after each class and they don't find and eat someone elses prechewed french fries.
