The post on your obsession made me think of this....I posted on there that my most prized possession is my "nummy" aka blanket from when I was lil. It is so very holey and basically a bunch of string, but I love it. It's 26 years old (older than me when mum found out she was pregnant) and I just adore it. It is my one vice in life. It calms me down, yes I'm 25 and still use it, but I don't have to. My one lil guilty pleasure hehe. What is YOUR most prized possession...material thing that is.

I never have been a material person, as in heirlooms or such, as I don't hold onto things or put emotional investment into them. I have always been like this. I like to give things away to make others happy and I have moved around a lot, so mobility has been a factor. But if it came down to one thing materially I would keep it would be my wedding ring. Hubby hit it on the head when he bought me my ring..it is sparkly, not too big, not too small ; ) ....and it reminds me of all the hapiness and love I now have.
Cheers, Heather

ooo heather can we see? :) That is so sweet. It is a reminder, instead of just a thing like many people think or put $ value on. So sweet:) I hope you've told him that too. I'm sure he'd beam all over, can you tell I'm readin the mars and venus books again :-p

Ms. Bridget...once I can remember my account name for the flicker thing, I will take a pic.
Hubby knows it. We were just talking about this last night, that we would live in a tent (as long as it was somewhere warm) if we had too, it is not about things or money.
I will work on the pic!!!
Cheers, Heather

This is my dining room table. My husband "found" this about a year ago and his dad and step-mom worked tirelessly to restore it. I love, love, love this table. We found the exact same one in a catalog from 1910, but who knows how old it is.

Ha! Ignore all the kid stuff (including the string they use for building their forts!).

obviously people are so much more important than things, but I really love my piano. It is a oak finish baby grand, and quite frankly, when I think of the one "thing" I would really be devestated about ever losing, that would be it. I cherish my wedding ring as well.

Her name is Felicia. She used to have a pink gingham bow and dress. My brother used to make her, "pick it and eat it," and I would tattle. She was a gift from my dad, and I have had her for as long as I can remember.

This little doll was my grandpa's. I called him Pappy (my grandpa not the doll) and he passed away in 1994. His grandma made this one for him and the body is all hand stitched and stained. I love it. The head is metal and alot of the face is "loved off". I take him on every trip with me and would sure save him in a fire. My husband thinks he is "scary looking". Well tough. He is perfect to me.

I had to think...what would I save from a fire? Has to be scrapbooks with all my kiddos early pictures in them.

ya' know rhonda .. when i used to do a lot of 'tea parties' for children .. i told them about how when their ancestors came to america by boat .. there usually wasn't any room for the children to bring anything from 'the old country' .. but i ask them if they and their entire family (including PETS) were to move to another country TOMORROW .. and they could only take ONE thing .. what would they take. i have always LOVED their answers.
then i tell the mom's to 'hold their hands over their ears and don't listen' .. and i would whisper to the children that we were going to ask the mom's the same question .. and i would bet them that almost EVERY mom there would say: "family photos" .. AND THEY DID!
