I am a direct descendant of Elisha Wallen, "The Long Hunter." He was a famous hunter and trader, and he was one of the first white men to travel the Wilderness Trail through Cumberland Gap. According to a book that was written about him, on his first long hunt in 1761, he was joined by Daniel Boone during part of the trip. So all you gals who are related to Daniel Boone...our grandaddies were hunting buddies!

My brother has done the geaneology for our family with all the info he could get from family and it comes to my attention that we are related to Lucille Ball. It figures.

I can't remember all the details, but some how I am related to Belle Starr the outlaw and part of my family can be traced back to the May Flower. There's even some kind of scholarship or grant we can get called Daughters of the May Flower.

I am related to Frances Eaton who came over on the Mayflower. My grandmother was very into geneology. She had her family traced way back. Her maiden name was Eaton. Her father was a Dr. It was pretty cool because my husband and I took a wonderful trip to MA. And saw the replica of the Mayflower and there was my ancestors name right there! It gave me goosebumps. He migrated up to Canada and that's where my great-grandfather was born many years later.

Wow....we're probably related somehow. Either that or they were arch enemies. What clan? or clans? Mine are Johnston, Graham, Bell, and Robertson. Those are the main ones anyway. Many others too. The Johnstons were the border reivers.

i have a cousin who is 'big-time' into geneology .. she SWEARS she has traced our family back to being related to:
King Henry VIII had lotsa' women in his life .. among these 'consorts', The Good King it seems had an illicit affair with the Queen's younger sister MARY .. they (supposedly) had a son (she DID have a SON) .. (from whom my family line comes). Mary named her son ... what else .. HENRY!! i have read several accounts of their 'relationship' .. and while the legitimacy of the King having fathered my great great great (oh lotsa' greats) grandpa .. have not been proven .. yet ... overwhelmingly in most reports he is indeed attributed to have passed on his 'genes' to my family! HA! i always KNEW i was a princess!
Mistresses Historians are sure of the names of only two of Henry's mistresses: Elizabeth Blount and Mary Boleyn (Anne's sister). Elizabeth Blount gave birth to Henry's illegitimate son, Henry FitzRoy. The young boy was made Duke of Richmond in June 1525 in what some thought was one step on the path to legitimatizing him. This never occurred, however, and FitzRoy never acceded to the throne. Mary Boleyn was originally the Boleyn/Howard girl that the Duke of Norfolk wanted to place as queen in place of Catherine of Aragon. Contemporary rumors stated that Mary Boleyn's two children, the first being Catherine, and the second being Henry were fathered by Henry, but their paternity has never been proven.
