This has been an amazing week and a half and a sad one at the same time. I have a wonderful new grandson, my husbands pneumonia is gone
and my mom has bone cancer.
I don't think it really sunk in until yesterday. Mom found out this last Sunday. We will not know the details of it all and treatment possiblitlies until this Friday. To say I have felt like I have been through an emotional ringer is an understatement. Leave it to my mom for a reality check, she says hey I am 72 and I am gonna die sometime. Appreciate continued prayers, thanks for being there ladies.
First of all, you girls are the best. Thanks for every prayer and good wishes that you have given for me. FM is better managed and pain levels are doable. I am so grateful
Here is my request, My dad went to the dermatologist and had serveral cancerous spots removed. He will have surgery in 2 weeks for one by his eye. Not too concerned but prayers are always wise.
Second, my mom's bloodwork did not come back ok for tumors. She does have a sinus infection but she is being sent to her oncologiest at the end of the month after they have done more blood work. Mom is a 2 time breast cancer survivor. She just made her 5 years out for the second time.
The other times she has gotten checked I wasn't nervous, this time I am. I am struggling more emotionally with this one. I know my mom won't be here forever and that I am so grateful for the time I have had. I just want lots more. Don't we all. Our moms play such an important part in our lives. Mine taught me about compassion and giving and so much more. Thanks for letting me share and for the prayers. Carol Sue

Carol Sue, We will certainly pray for you and your family.
You're right....we do want more time with loved ones. Sometimes I wish I could make the world stop just so I could have uninterrupted time. It's not always big interruptions the suck up your time.....it's usually the everyday things like laundry, cooking, cleaning, school, etc... I'll pray that your time will be freed up so you can focus on your family.
Blessings Catherine

Carol Sue, absolutely...I feel the same way about my mother--she is my best friend. I will be thinking GOOD thoughts and hoping that each year is cancer and trouble free for her. Glad to hear that there's not too much concern with your dad's spots--melanoma is sure frightening.

Carol Sue - as you know I have a personal connection to your dad - he was a really fun, uplifting teacher in my life. I don't know your mom but from what you've said, she must be a really great woman also. They are both in my thoughts and prayers, as are the rest of your family. I know how you feel - I've been through it with both my parents and it's never easy, but think positively and have faith.

carol, i am sending out hugs and prayers to you and your family. ihave been through this with my parents who have both passed away. my dad about 14 years, and my mom about 5. it is such a busy time when you are helping out with your parents health issues, but in a very funny way a blessing. i hope you and yours will have a great outcome on all their health issues and i am saying a prayer for you for peace and strength at this time. you are such a support to all who read your words on this site, i hope we can provide some comfort and help for you. your mom and dad raised such a wonderful woman, i just know they are sweethearts.
love fran

Oh Carol Sue...I'm sorry. You're mom is sure a fighter, though, and her spirit is rewarding. Yes, it's devastating to think of a time that you won't have them--my mom thinks of my gran everday after 3 years, and I don't think that will ever change.
I am praying for all of you as you come to terms with her diagnosis and possible treatments and oh, just everything else, Carol Sue.
