The Health department shut down my husband's job until further notice, today. It seems they had too much snow on the roof. Doug was called in today to shovel snow from the Winco roof before it caved in, though when I was at the doctor's office I heard there had been a partial collapse. I am not certain on that though.
WOW! Drew heard that they were thinking of closing it, just not that it caved in. This is getting to be a bit much winter me thinks. I hope that Doug is ok and that Nora is doing better. Sounds like several of us have had trying times today
do you girls think we have had an inordinately (hmmmmmmmm .. did i make that word up .. or is it a word 'from my past'???) HUGE amount of snow in certain parts of the country (and canada) this year?
kentucky has only had a few flakes (at least where we live). TOLEDO has tooooooo much .. what with my precious preggie daughter driving in it with two and half angels strapped in!

They shoveled snow from about noon till 7pm. The roof didn't collapse but it was at critical mass. The roof was bowing in some places as much as 8 inches! If they pass inspection tomorrow they will re-open.
I hope they re-open for you, Alee. That's scary that the roof was bowing. I'll bet Doug is worn out from shoveling for that many hours. That's really hard work, especially if you have to carry each shovelful to the edge of the building before you can throw it. Don't be surprised if he feels stiff and sore this morning!

I made him take an Aleve last night and his arms were still sore! Yikes. He worked for about 6 months at a construction company when we first moved to town. They ran slow on business so they let Doug go at winter time with the promise he could come back in the summer. He never did because he didn't enjoy the work. Anyway- Winco had contracted this company to help clear the snow. The owner, also Doug, said "Doug! Why did I ever let you go? You're the best digger up here!" :D I love it when people compliment my guy. He really is a sensitive guy though he trys to act tough/nonchalant about things.
