Well, I had some old potatoes in the back of the pantry that I forgot about and was going to throw them away. My dad told me not to went and cut them up a little and planted them. He just wanted to see if they would do anything. What do you all think. Will anything come of it?

The best potatoes we ever grew were ones that I had bought, put in the basement and forgot were there. They had sprouted so we planted them. They work just fine.:)

Blessings....

They should work fine. My mom put potato peelings in her compost once (long time ago) and she had potato plants everywhere!

I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by. ~anon

So you think they will grow even though we planted them in January?

If your climate is mild enough to be able to dig in the dirt in January, then they would probably be fine. However, I would cover any new sprouts at night if you get down to freezing.
