It was an "only" but the price was good, $6.99 and the best part was that under that gosh aweful white burlappy type fabric was yet another ugly rust colored sort of fabric,,,but then...surprize!,,,there was a floral on black background needlepoint tapestry, handmade no less...that will become a pillow in the next week or so.
I loved the little rose motif on the chair and the fun part is the fabric that I used to cover the seat has roses in it.
I love giving discarded things a second life.
Jess made & sent the cute blocks to me last Summer. I made a table topper for my little bistro table that sits on my balcony, the table topper looked so cute, how we managed to never spill a drop of wine on it bets the heck out of me! I had packed it away & just pulled it out today while tidying up my linen cabinet.
She is so talented and a busy mom to boot!

Thanks everyone! I am going to make 2 more with the trees. The 2 in the picture are winter and spring, and I'm going to make summer and fall yet. I also have 2 more done that I just need to put together. I can't stop! Luckily, I had a huge pile of felt, because I like to scrapbook with it, but I still want more!

He will do most anything on my "HoneyDew" list for cookies & casseroles!!!! lol!

Heather, what a cool idea, the 4 Seasons....how neat!
Yep, I to have fun putting these little pins together,,,,it's amazing what can be done w/some scrap felt & seed beads, a couple of buttons and some 1/4" ribbon...and what a sweet littl gift they make as a "tuck-in" in a card.
Yes, our receiving 7 is the perfect number, so we can wear a different one each day of the week.

Grace, I just took a peek at your blog( I have wicked fibromyalgia, so I don't sleep much, at least not at night), I was admiring your quilting, yr second hand shopping skills, but then I spied your kitties. Oh they are wonderful and they look like much more dignified quilter's assistants that the bunch at my house. I don't know what I would have to do to get them to gaze calmly at anything I make, they like to dive right in or on and roll around and occasionally attempt to make off with quilt pieces.
What a treat for me to find this wonderful site, to see all the things created by all these talented women. I have made five felt pins so far and I'm happy with four of them so I guess I'll just keep making them till I get eight I think will pass muster. The nice thing about fabric is when your hands get tired or sore, you can stop sewing and just pat the cloth and look through it admiring it and thinking of things to make when the hands are once again willing. Yikes, I do blather on. I guess I better go upstairs and see if I can get some sleep. I love your nine patch quilt, it's filled with such color and it dances on that wall. Karin

Karin...I agree...Gracies kitties look so proper! My dear Charlie Brown keeps me company when I sew. A couple of weeks ago, I had layed out all my patches for a quilt...so that I could figure out the design of the top...all arranged neatly on the floor of my sewing room. I ran downstairs for something and when i came back up it looked like a tornado had blown through the room. Ole Charlie Brown had done a big shuffle dance with my squares!! Maniac cat!

Oh Dear,
we sent our kitties to kitty charm school....and then when they flunked out we invested in "kitty Valum" lolol!
Just kiddin', I will tell you, they may pose sweet for the camera,,,,but they are truly full of & please excuse my potty mouth, "piss-n-vinegar".....
When I am down stairs, I can hear Dolly Girl running from the living room into the kitchen, sliding across the kitchen floor! she loves that game... like a kid who gets a good running start befor they slid on the Slip-n-Slide....haha!
off to play
Hey Karin, Carol Sue also battles Fibromylagia, ya might want to email her, she to has troulbe sleeping & is up late....
ok ladies off to my sewing room & DIY/HGTV w/ a little Josh Groban music in the back ground!

Kathie- I wouldn't worry about yours being too weird. That's the fun of swapping- everyone has different ideas and techniques. I think you should make yours however they inspire you to!

jess, on your chairs ..can you use liquid nails as a super thin application of it between the joints on your old chair?..or another type of good wood glue and then when you clamp them back together use cloth before you set the clamps to clamp it together for the glue to dry.

I remember using a product called ChairLoc ( my spelling might be wonky), and then using heavy twine to bind the legs so that you have enough tension on them. Turn them upside down and let them dry overnight. I can remember doing this with my mother when I was a child and I have used this product within the last five years and I'm pretty sure any hardware probably carries it.The part about trussing up the chairs to maintain tension is what really helps. I love the tiny cow! Karin
