I'm watching him today, he happened to be on the channel I was on. I love it, but then I wonder if he's real. Anyone ever see healing first hand? It fascinates me so much.

He's been around for a long time. At least 15 years. I don't have any first hand knowledge, but my personal opinion is that he's a faker. I do know people who have been healed (in some cases dramatically) by prayer. I guess technically you could say that I've seen it happen, but it honestly didn't look like much. All that showmanship and drama just make me suspicious.

I had the opportunity to see him at one of his "Crusades" when I lived in St. Paul and I have to tell you, as with anyone like him, he is a big fat faker. Firstly, if anyone he was healing and speaking in tongues to really read and understood their Bible (mind you this comes from a former Christian-one who nearly became a Nun, but studied for quite some time under a dispensationalist minister) they would understand that 1) speaking in tongues is a gift that is gone as there is no one there to interpret-which is a requirement in Scripture, 2)The only time God in Scripture uses his hand to put someone on their back is when he kills them (I will cite Scripture later....) 3)He is a heretic because of his outlandish methods...his trickery to get the poorest of the poor giving him money 4) He is self righteous because Scriptures clearly say that anyone who prays soo very openly is self righteous, that you are to pray in quiet reverence and in secret so as not to appear like a fake.

That's my two cents...take it for what you will, but everything I know about Christianity syas that he is a fake and a very harmful one.

*Edited to add a few things:
I want you to know that I keep Christianity in very high regard, I think it is as valid as my own beliefs and would be the very last person to bash or talk down about ANY religion or faith structure, their followers are another story. I also want you to know that aside from my lifetime of personal interest and study of wolrd religions, I had may years (8 in fact) of tutelage from various authorites on the matter from Catholic Sisters, Priests, Buddhists, Rabbi's and previously mentioned Dispensationalist minister. Religion and it's discussions fascinate me to no end and are not anything I talk about or take lightly...I fear for people who take someone like Benny Hinn seriously. In my opinion, IF there is a Satan, Benny Hinn is in league with him...

Well Tasha, that's what I think, you are to do it without all the hub bub. Not calling attention to it. Or do it for free. It's so sad that people always take advantage of others.

Matthew 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." (KJV)

1 John 4:1 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." (KJV)
