thanks, tina. i cant believe folks are still waiting for their bunnies! i feel like every day i am so busy, i cant imagine that i ever worked out of the home and did it "all".
of course i was younger then and in good health.
i get really discouraged sometimes with my health and the things i can and cant do.
of course i have always been a bit of a dreamer, so i have always had a backlog of projects even when i was younger, but in those days i could do most of the work myself and didnt have to rely on dh being here and being able to turn the screwdriver for me or get the clothes out of the washing machine (they are too heavy for me to transfer)>
i woke up today and knew right away that this would not be a very productive day for me. i am very achey and moving slowly and it will be a day of sitting activities for sure.
maybe a good day to make bunnie clothes.
i was to have a spinning lesson but had to cancel out.
recently, dh and i went to dallas to have a hearing for social security. we didnt expect much, the lawyer said we would have to appeal and start all over again.
my dh has been working for 7 years at 2-3jobs ever since i had to quit work. we have had some incredible luck as well and some good fortune that has helped us through all this.
but have also had to scale down, selling 60 acreas with only 16 remaining, and living off of some of my moms inheritance that i really had some dreams for. (some of which i did)
anyway, much to the amazement of the attorneys, the social security judge, in fact ruled that i am too disabled to resume my previous work and in 6 months we well start getting a check to supplement our income.
it is a bittersweet experience to have folks acknowledge officially that you are "disabled," but something that is required if you need to have the extra income that is provided with that "title".
anyway, dont know how i got off on that tangent, but thanks for the comment on the bunnies, and i hope today to do my "couch" chores and get some bunny clothes made as well.
hope everyone has a great day!

Aww Frannie,
I always love hearing from you.
I'm so sorry that you are having one of those "couch days" my mom suffers from the fibromyalgia type stuff and arthritis in her neck..and so I know a little about how those "couch days" can be.
Well..I am glad that the supplements on the disability checks will start coming in, but of course no one ever likes to have to have a "title" like that...but you sometimes have to do what you have to do to make ends meet.
You take care of yourself today and don't go overdoing it. Everyone here is patient..or should be..so don't go fretting yourself about stuff.
Get to feeling better and get yourself a nice glass of southern iced tea or lemonade and get some r and r in.
hugs to you.
Tina

Frannie...I just hear how discouraged you are today. I'm sorry you're feeling poorly. You're right--to have someone "award" you the title of disabled is very bittersweet--and it's a long road to get to that difficult place to begin with. We do some of those cases here in the office, and often times, folks will just get too discouraged with the process and give up. And, we can't blame them. It's devastating what the social services programs in this country put valid cases through. I guess they just "hope" that you'll give up. I'm glad that you didn't, Frannie, and maybe now, things will be a little easier. You should know, Frannie, that I would wait til the cows came home for you and your creations.

Oh my. I just don't know what to say about those two bunnies of mine! Right when I saw the posting, my boss wandered downstairs so I had to stifle my joy!!! But he's gone now, and I can truly say that I'm sooooo very thrilled. They have to be the sweetest things I've laid eyes on.

hugs, and prop up those feet..you deserve it.:0)
and aww..you are a sweetheart too.:)
I've actually got to get off this computer now today and try to get a few things accomplished...I'm wanting to have a huge garage sale here/actually have to have one here..need to get a few supplies for getting the house ready and so forth, so the garage sale is not just a pre moving sale its a "be able to afford supplies" sale to keep from having to tap into the budget. It's amazing the things you can find when you haven't moved in a while...and the things a family of 5 can accumulate after a while. So, I'm really hoping to be able to have a good sale soon. I actually hate having garage sales, but..yep..another one of those "you do what you have to do" things...ha.
have a good day Frannie and get to feeling better.

hi, jonni, i do get a little discouraged from time to time, you are such a perceptive farmgirl friend.
i am just feeling very achy and foggy today. i think it has been about 1 1/2 weeks of full steam ahead that has probably caused this.
at any rate i am trying to slow down the pace a bit today and hope that helps.

i think i will just have a hug the bunny day. all the bunnies have to be hugged alot before they leave for the journeys.
this little bunny is lime green and i think is headed for zan at some point.
this is a pic of her getting a hug from me, while i work on her dress

Well, a good 10 days of full steam ahead will do that to anyone of us, Frannie. It's good to slow down and take care of you--and most of all, it's "ok" to do so. We gals have a tendancy to think we have to take care of the world and one day (or two, or three or more) isn't going to stop this ole earth from spinning. Yes, you should take some time for you today and hug those bunnies. I know that when I feel the way you do, nothing is better for my soul than hanging with the dogs on the couch. Finn Lynch (my pit mix) is the best medicine I know of!!!!

Zan's little bun-rap is adorable! And, oddly enough, her ears remind me of Zan's dreads :)

you make me laugh, jonni.i can see the bunny has dreads now too.
that is too cute, just like our Zan, who is a cutie,,,and well, pretty too.
did you get chance to check out her pics of her dance classes she held on her trip down to florida.
very nice.
you are right about women. we do a lot of caretaking, and most of the time, i feel up to it. i have been tired though the last little bit, and i was thinking the other day how long it has been since i have been able to sleep and wake up naturally, as opposed to being woken up, by babies or husband or alarm clock,,,,just to wake up because my body is finished sleeping.
sometimes when the grandkids are here, i get woken up because i am sleeping..."hey omie wake up....did you know you were sleeping"
that one always makes me kinda giggle.

I know, right? Zan is adorable!!! She's a lovely girl and that's something we have had great discussions about, is dance.

I know what you mean about waking up naturally...I don't seem to do it, either. I call mine the "monkey brain" that constantly works, even when I am asleep. I usually wake up 3-5 times in a night, and eventually just get up because I'm so frustrated. Jus also talks in his sleep (and occasionally sleep walks) so I'm very "vigilent" even while attempting to sleep :)

So cute about the little ones reminding you to "wake up"....what joy they obviously bring to you.

thank you ladies. i finally gave up the ghost today and laid down for a nice nap. well, then the phone started ringing. three phone calls later and i finally got some rest. i think i am gonna take jonnis advice and rest for about 2-3 more days. well my version of resting.
tomorrow is little olivias birthday and she wants to have it here at the farm , so there is a little work to do for that. then they will spend the night. but saturday after they leave i think i will try to get away with another day of rest. this could become habit forming.
check in with yall later. and thanks for all the sweet words , i too wish we could spend the day together and just chat and visit. maybe zan could teach us all to dance.

Hope the birthday goes well for little Olivia, and that you can delegate a little. That's what family is all about, getting in there and helping out.

That would be a wonderful day, all of us together, but I think I'll just watch Zan--these hips don't have a lot of action!!!

i know what you are talking about jonni, but i think zan would be a good teacher and it would be fun to try.
did you check out her post where she had pics of some of her classes.
they looked like so much fun!
when i was a little girl i was always known as the singer , but i wanted to dance. even then i was a little clumsy and dance was not my forte. my best frienc peggy jean was a wonderful dancer but was a frustrated singer. funny, huh?
anyway, i woke up today and am hoping that the cobwebs are out of my head. so far, so good. i have a little to do for miss olivia's party, balloons, food, etc. and then a present. her granpa was going to do that, but that fell through. so i will take care of that today.
i dont know how you gals do it that work out side of the home and take care of the home as well.
oh, well, dont get me started.
just had to check in and start my day with you farmgirls.
"a day with the farmgirls is a day without sunshine"
isnt that how that saying goes....oh, yeah, i think it had something about orange juice, but that was way before mj created the farmgirl site.

Well, I was a classically trained ballerina and danced, but not that sort of dance. I simply have no rhythm and nothing is worse than seeing a room full of skinny-minny girls with their hair pulled back so tight they look asian, try to "shake it"! It's laughable!!!!

Well, Frannie, some things women just have to take care of...like gifts for little ones. If Jus were in charge, he'd get her a gift card to somewhere, or just put money in the card!!!!

I sure hope it's a lovely day for her, anyway, and you, too. I know how much you love your family and it's the weekend, to boot!!!

yes, pawpaw had his heart set on getting little olivia a camera, cause she is crazy for taking pics. but he couldnt find one in our budget. i think he looked in the camera section rather than the toy section. anyway, i know i will find something for her.

know this is totally off topic, but yesterday i finally got a pic of my cardinal buddy who has been coming to my kitchen window since he was a little one. he scolds me if the feeder is empty and just generally thinks we are bird version of cable. i cant imagine what he must think of the view he has from the window.

isnt he too cute.

How cute is that little bird!!! He sounds like my little titmouse who comes to visit with his big eyes, always scolding me for sitting on my porch swing, and not catering to his every whim!!

You should blow that photo up, Frannie--I really love the context of the pic, but also the textures of the curtains and the glass. Very wonderful!!!

that isnt glass, it is my makeshift screens. we dont have screens on the windows, and some of the windows havent been repaired yet with the weights and ropes, so they have to be propped up. so i came up with my version of a solution, i made frames that fit in the window to hold it up and tacked old lace in the frame to serve as screen.
they are funny but now i love them. have made several and since the windows are all the same width they can be used anywhere within the house. they sorta look european to me.
fun to make and fun to use.

Hey Ladies, I heard my name from all the way in NJ where I was teaching yesterday...haha, we can do some hip shaking action

Frannie, I am all about naps, I think there should be some sort of daily mandate for it!

And the cardinal is wonderful. There is a cardinal that visits my mother's house in Fl all the time. Umm..unfortunately, he leaves his "calling card" on her car, if'n you know what I mean!

so, i think the bunnies are ready to hit the trail...she has her necklace, her basket,....then i start hearing this little voice in the back of my head, and it gets louder and louder.
i turn and look at the little girl bunny, but she is sitting there very patiently..............
"he wants a hat"
what?
"he says, he wants a hat"
and i could tell that nothing would do until he had a hat.

well, not only did he want a hat, it had to be a tam, AND he wanted to wear it backwards...

so, what could i do? i made him a hat and he wears it backwards.....
bunnies....men......men bunnies......
