Anyone ever have those moments?
Last night I put on a pot of vegetable soup to simmer - it looked strange to me but I just couldn't figure out what might be wrong. It was so... plain looking. Turns out I forgot to add a jar of tomatoes! Now it looks like perfectly normal vegetable soup. :)

Oh, yes, Jennifer. I have so had those moments. Mine happened when I tried to impress someone I really admired. I invited him over for dinner one night for homemade lasagna. I even made the pasta and french bread from scratch. At dinner, he heaped his plate up and began to dig in, commenting on 'how wonderful' it was. I served my plate, and as the lasagna hit the plate, I noticed it looked funny. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the made from scratch pasta was still sitting in the refrigerator in a bowl. I had completely left it out! Consequently, I learned a very hard lesson about trying to impress anyone! It took me months to confess to Jim what I had done, and now, it's just a big joke between us. I may not see him for years, but when I do, he always asks if I'll make him some more lasagna! UGH!!! :)

I made cornbread one time and as I was pouring it into the pan I realized I had forgotten to put in the baking powder. It was too late at that point, so I had to make cornmeal pancakes out of the batter. Those were pretty good, though. |

Sure. I think everyone does. Mine usually occurs when I'm just "tapped" out mentally...after a long day of doing a legal brief or whatever, I can't remember how to spell certain simple words, or I go downstairs to specifically talk with my boss about something and I forget halfway down.

During my last pregnancy, I'd wash clothes and then realize that I never added detergent to the load!

When I get really forgetful, it usually means for me that I need to lay down and sleep. I have a bad habit of running my energy down to nothing and then I start getting nutty and forgetful. A good nap or even a longer snooze and drinking some water is helpful to me.
Cheers, Heather

Do I sense a new chapter beginning? The Forgetful Farmgirl Friends?! My WORST "oops" was turning the water on in the kitchen sink to wash some dishes. Had to go answer the doorbell and after chatting for a few moments, maybe quite a few moments, headed back to the kitchen, having totally forgotten about the dishes....water was pouring over the side of the sink, into the drawers, and ALL over the floor. Decided it was a good time to wash the floor and clean out the drawers! Oh, and I washed the dishes too! Hugs, Nance |

Ooohh... I did that with the bathtub once, Nance. My floor had never been cleaner!
