“One Man’s Lincoln”
Friday and Saturday
February 15 and 16, 2008 in Greensburg, Kentucky

Greensburg will join the 200th Anniversary Celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s birth with the Kentucky Repertory Theatre’s production of “One Man’s Lincoln”. This one-man touring production by Wade Hall about Abraham Lincoln is from the viewpoint of his law partner, William Herndon, Springfield, Illinois.

Billy Herndon, portrayed by Larry Snead, presents a spellbinding monologue of the“evidence” on Lincoln as if he were in court, speaking from the law offices the two men shared before Lincoln was elected president. Outspoken and controversial, he attempts to decipher Lincoln’s greatness and complexity, while offering a compelling look at his humanity.

The play will be held in the Greensburg Presbyterian Church, which is part of the Historic District and Renaissance on Main Program.

Two performances—three ticket packages -

Ticket A—$25.00 per person— tour, reception and play
Ticket B—$10.00 per person—play only
Ticket C—$5.00 per student—play only

Ticket A—meet at the Old Courthouse to begin 5:00 p.m. tour
Tickets B and C—meet at the Greensburg Presbyterian Church for the 6:30 p.m. performance.

What is the absolute "latest" that you need the money for the play by...again my BIG concern is the weather and I really hate to be "out" money right now even $25 (mostly with DH being w/o a job at this time :-(

As for the other stuff, sounds great!

honey . you won't be sending me the money for the play. contact the number (city hall) that i listed and ask if they have lots of tickets left. if they have lots .. you might be able to wait a bit. i'm not sure if they have a limit for the tour and reception .. but if the church fills up (and it's fairly large) .. they could run out of seats for friday night's performance. this guy is a professional actor and the event is being widely advertized. i meant to make my reservations today when i was in town .. but forgot! will call tomorrow for tickets for honey hunk and me.

try and squeeze $25. out of the grocery money .. or ask for this as a VALENTINE's gift!! that's what i usually do! xo

Frannie, I will call in the a.m. for my ticket and let you know tomorrow.

I am hoping that Ange can meet up with us at some point over the weekend (even for just an hour or so). She will be a "Full Fledged Veterinarian" next Wednesday! So, I am not sure of her schedule or of any plans that Mr.Steven might have for his little Valentine. Will just have to wait and see. But sure do want to introduce you to Dr. Ange. That kid has worked her butt off and learned to survive on very little (10 yrs of college days) to get where she is...can you tell that girl has one proud Momma?

I am so excited about the weekend! I NEED a "Joy" weekend. Will not have a load of pennies to spend but will bring my piggy-bank and plan on a good time.
