Hi, Everyone! I'm Kim and I am a big fan of MaryJane's Farm. I love antiques and living in the counrty here in Hinckley Illinois. My BF and I live on one acre and our "daughter" is Emma (Golden Retriever).
I would love to correspond with other "farm girls at heart" through this forum or through regular e-mail. I enjoy reading and cooking and am looking to change over to a more organic lifestyle. I would like to do more canning this summer. I collect Chickens & Roosters (not live ones, though it would be fun).
Send me a line! Kim

Hi Kim -- I'm a FarmGirl living in the northern 'burbs of Chicago -- where is Hinkley? I'll have to google-map it. Do you have good antiquing out there? If you're ever in Evanston, Illinois, check out Secret Treasures on Dempster Street -- just the most fun shop! Vintage linens, china, jewelry, stuff. I love antiquing, mostly at garage and estate sales around here and in several malls and flea markets in Michigan, from whence I hail. I think I'd love a road trip Out West Somewhere (which is what I tend to call the rest of Illinois, since we're on the eastern edge - - of course, everything not Chicago is Downstate, according to our news media!). Anyway, wanted to say Hi from another Illinoisian. -- Katie |

Ooh, Rockford has a couple large antique stores that have very good quality items, and a lot of larger pieces, like large furniture & architectural items. I looooove antiquing! ![](icons/icon_smile_cool.gif) |

Cool!! Y'know, that place out on 38 is back in business, from what I hear...I don't know if it's the same owners, but I'm curious as to what they've got nowadays. I think it was called Josie's Antiques or something like that (it was east on Lincoln Highway a short ways out of town). There's TONS of antique shops & cute little gifty sorta shops in Sandwich, too...not to mention the Sandwich Antique Market every month (though most things there are waaay out of my price range...that event attracts professionals!).
I'm weak for most anything from the first half of the last century or earlier...gosh, I love antique stores! It's like a million private stories all out on display. ![](icons/icon_smile_approve.gif) |
