,okay, i read the post from bohemiangel, and as usual, i was a little confused, does she mean me, or our frannie in kentucky?
i usually assume, unless folks call me texas frannie, like nancy jo does that they mean frannie, in kentucky. ......
but just in case she means me, i have had 2 days off from grandma duty, and i have been cooking, cooking, cooking, mostly tamales, tortilas soup, and today, chicken gumbo.
also have been crafting for easter and have posted a few pics on the blog about the easter crafting.
if ya really meant frannie from kentuckythen,,,,,,ooooops, never mind.

love

thanks, to all for your responses.
as usual, nancy jo , you are so encouraging.
these little bunnies, right now are not as small as belle's horse.
when i do different craft shows, people give me their input on what the like or dont like, and sometimes i change my crafts with that in mind. i have always enjoyed making the stuffies small, but some folks have expressed that they would like to see them larger, so i am experimenting with them.
miss wilma, what a treat to have you interested in my crafts!
i gift them to friends and family, but over the last couple of years i have started selling them, at rountop, and in a few shops here in texas, in Mckinney, texas and in Waxahachie, texas and in Seabrook, texas through my niece who lives in that area.
if you check out my back blogs you can see different items i have made and continue to make and i would be glad to talk via email about sending detailed pics to you.
my old post"some of my scrat crafts" also has pics and info on it about the progression of my crafts and the biz on it. the farmgirls here, nancy jo, nance in france, aunt jenny, and sunshine to name just a few were very encouraging to me in the early stages.
my crafts are very special to me, and i try to incorporate ideas that i want to send out into the world, like recycling, having an admiration for the old ways and handcrafting, and buying products from mom and pop shops.
i was for many years an occupational therapist, which litterally means the occupation of time towards a therapeutic endeavor. at one time our profession was the one that brought arts and crafts into the hospital setting.
when i had a bout with a major illness and found myself a patient, and no longer employed, i had to use my own knowledge to try and help heal myself.
now i am a full time stay at home grandma and crafter and i couldnt be happier, (i probably couldnt be poorer either, but whose counting)
so i appreciate all the encouragement, and i would love the opportunity to expand my business through you, miss wilma so let me know what you would like to know and i will get that info to you as soon as possible.
oooops the kiddos are soon to be here, i have some brownies to make.

love

kentucky frannie,
i read about your gatherins here and sure wish i could come to one.
as it is i am tied up most of the time with my life at the farm and the grandkiddos, but i'm not complainin.
roundtop/warrenton is unexplainable.first it is HUGE and frustrating cause their is really know way to see it all, and it is somewhat difficult to find a place to stay.
its texas so the weather for roundtop can be crazy, hot, rainy or beautiful, ya just never know.
having said all that it is almost addictive, once ya go, you just want to keep going.
my trip down there this spring is up in the air. it is too long for me to be gone from the farm (the trip last time was 9 days)
and while i pick up good buyers from stores, and sell out. i still dont make enough to cover my expenses. i am not a volume crafter and i cant seem to accumulate enough to have a big volume their to sell.
our weather here right now is COLD. my dh sleeps every night on the sleeping porch , he is out there right now.
i sleep cozy in the house, thank you very much.
i think it has become a macho thing for him. he lets us all know he has slept in 8 degree weather.
but as i say, it is texas, they are calling for it to be in the high 60s in a few days. go figure.

what are the dates for the spring roundtop? i jus' might make a 'gurlfren' trip to see it! have you ever eaten at the cafe down there (can't think of the name of it right now .. but it's famous for it's PIES .. and they did a 'cookbook' all about it). ha! might just be 'roundtop cafe'!!

we have a bed on our screen porch too .. honey hunk has done mt. everest and plans to do antartica next winter .. but HA! you won't catch him freezing out there if there is a warm toasty bed nearby!! brave husband of yours!!

i know what you mean about time with the grandes! we spent last weekend with ours at an 'indoor waterpark/hotel' in ohio .. and i miss them so much since coming back home!

are you near houston? we do plan to come visit some of hank's cousins in houston sometime this year! xo

i grew up about 40-50 miles south east of houston, in galveston county, and still have relatives there, a sister,(when she isnt living in kuwait) and a niece and her family.
i love galveston county and still miss it even though i havent lived there in 35 years.
we are not any where near houston now. we live 6 miles south of the red river in north texas. we are in between sherman, texas and paris, texas, about 70 miles north east of dallas. our closest little town is ravenna, but if ya cant find that on the map we are about 7 miles north of bonham, texas.
fannin county is a beautiful county, but it is very rural, and the problem here for most folks is finding a job.
one of the only industries here is a veterans administration hospital where my dh works.
we do have a lot of retired folks from other states, like california moving in here, because our property value is still pretty low and there are lots of wide open spaces here.
there are several nice restaurants in roundtop, i cant remember all of them, but i could ask my friend she remembers everything!

here is a pic of the porch with the outside bedroom.
