Miss Wilma,
How does that work? Do you pack up everything and make a major trip to the post office? It must take a long time to wrap and pack, especially the bigger items right? I think you better plan a day of rest and use one of those rocking chairs for sitting!

I wish I could rest nancy but what I have to do today is get all the small things boxed they have bought and part of the furniture I have a trailor out front I can get a lot of it in then they will be here the 9th of Feb to pick it up, they are doing the big show in Nashville and will stay a couple of nights with us, That will give me some room in the shop so I can get some more off of the porch, the load I sold Tuesday was going to Birmingham and they took it with them

I heave heard of that show in Nashville - my friend who sells antiques in Dillard, Georgia goes to that show and can't say enough good things. So you are selling to dealers mostly? If you see something sot ofr small and unasked for, let me know. I would absolutely love to have something from this treasure from Miss Wilma.

Well Wilma, looks like Gilbert Sterling Rd. is the place to shop!!!! I can just picture trucks coming down that road loaded to the brim - standing room only in the shop and the coffee pot in third gear!!!! But don't forget about Sterl, he needs cornbread and turnips!!!! You and I have good men - but you have to keep them well fed - ha!! take care and don't get run down. Hannah

BE SURE TO LOOK AT OUR NEW WEBB PAGE...Thanks and enjoy every minute of this day!! Hannah

Jeannie tell me what you like and I will find you something, I cant believe my self how fast this has sold, but every one that knew her would have died for what she had, I feel honored that I got to buy when there were buyers much closer than I am, Yes I do have a a good following of dealors. I will be going down to the big show with some friends, it is a good show to do and I have done it several times but the unloading is a pill, so I have it pretty good my dealors stop going down and come up from the south I have one coming from Mo.They like to come here because I not only let them come here I take them all around to different places, We have some days planned and some great places to go done lined out, The funny thing I have no signs, and live in the boonies

Jessie when our road was gravel years ago we didnt like our magistrate because he was a political crook and Sterl told him if he brought the grader in here he would shoot the tires off of it, You better believe he didnt fool around with these mountain folks It didnt matter to us because nobody lived back in here but us so Sterl did his own grading

Miss Wilma - I saw a wonderufl little basket in your photos sitting next to your SOLD Prince Albert Can! Have you sold that basket yet? I love small baskets that are "real".....hand-made in other words, not like the ones you find at Michael's or someplace.

Okay - I hope she does not buy it but if it is sold, you have an idea of something I would like, if you have others similar. Thank you! I would love a basket, and it would be easy to send. Will go perusing through your photos again.

Miss Wilma - well I just paid 90.00 for one in North Carolina at my friend's primitive shop...., and I am having a quilt finished for 425.00, so I guess I better pass on it right now. Budget won't allow it! Thank you for letting me know! It is beautiful and looks worth it, because it looks like split oak, and made in a wonderful way.

I have a knack for picking the stuff that goes beyond my budget!

Thats fine, it is hickory and good,I think you did great to find one for 90.00, Some areas things are better prices than others, Nc is a good place to buy them, I have several from there, also they made good baskets,If I priced a basket to the people here they probably would have a heart attack,

Wilma-
Just pop a nice smooth one in my next box, whenever that is;) Mine is splintering and it is time to upgrade but the new ones are soooo cheaply made.

Warmly, Rebekka

Miss Wilma - hickory - oh darn, I wish I could get it right now! By the way, I looked on Ebay today, and there were two similar in looks, one from Tennessee, and both were going for around 56.00 and the bidding was not ended. I know they are treasures, for sure. I use my old baskets every day.....I have several really old ones, and they are put to use!

If you are going to the Nashville Show, look for my friend Susan Mick (has a shop in Dillard, and a home in Otto, NC.) She tells me that location is everything at that show. She travels all over the S.E. and shows and buys. I love to hear her stories, just as I love to hear yours!

You keep me posted if yo do not sell that little thing!

I will go on and see if I can find them but I promise I wont bid against you,Do you know where Susan s booth is there, does she do Ruth Rochells show in Tn Ther e are a lot of the shows I would do but I sell to a lot of the girls out there on the primitive trail and it wouldnt be right to set up beside them and sell the same thing for less money, So I have found that I can wholesale here and keep a steady line of dealors

Oh my Miss Wilma! I have just been looking at allllll the things you are buying & selling recently. Beautiful, in that grubby, homely way we love. Wish I could be down there to see everything in person! Even if you don't get to keep everything, it must be GREAT fun to get a look at all of it!

Miss Wilma - you have found the perfect balance. The dealers come to you - low overhead and high profit. That is a good thing for everyone.

I do not know where Susan will be, but if you see the name Tippecanoe Trader, that is her. She always has a story behind everything she has, and boy I have learned a lot from her. A great gal. She does shows in Savannah, Charleston, and several in Florida each year. Her shop in Dillard is also called Tippecanoe Trader.

Go ahead and bid on the Ebay baskets - I have not had a bid on a basket that did not come back to me and say I have been outbid!!!! But I keep me eyes out all the time, everywhere, and sometimes they come to me.

Let me know how much you sell my basket for!!!! :) Kiddin ya.
