I finally sat down at my computer for a couple of days and started teaching myself how to set up a Picture Trail.

At least I was able to get a few photos on and thought I would share what I have so far and certainly hope that those of you who are interested will enjoy looking around - so WELCOME to our home, check often as I will add new photos often and always have a treasure or two to buy.

I will enjoy hearing from all who love country and primitive as much as we do.

Hannah I had a giggle over that ole butter churn. I just stepped back in time looking at those photos. Those cookbooks are so neat! I love reading your stories too on there about the origins of things and how things originally were. You have some wonderful primitives and antiques.

Thank you all - for all your nice compliments. I really enjoy sharing our home with you and look forward to adding more. There IS one thing I can't seem to fix on the webbsite, maybe someone could tell me what I need to do...thank you.
Do let me know what you all enjoy seeing most - I'll also try to keep my "stories" short, I'm just trying to answer alot of questions all of you have asked.
Thanks again,

Hannah Jo

I love how everything is so neatly decorated and in its own place. It does not look like chaos and it looks very warming and welcoming. I think the one thing you need to fix is the background photo of your main page.

When you sign in, click on the Photo Sharing Tag.
Click the Tab that says "options" at the top.
Click on "Photo Albums Page".
Click on "Page Background".
Click on the pull down menu and then click on which style you would like. You can do solids or prints.
Click on "update" and it should be good to go.

Let me know if you need any help with this. I don't mind a bit!

thanks so much Jessica...now, I followed your directions, chose another background which I was able to view....but when I clicked onto the RESET it didn't change anything. What am I doing wrong. When you log onto my PT address and it brings up the green old wood screen, you click onto an album to go to THUMBNAILS....then when you click onto more albums at the top does it go back to the green wooden screen or to my PT workpage? thanks again.....Hannah

Jessica, I had email from my son and he tells me when he clicks onto (more albums) it takes him back to the green wooden screen so I am ok there...is that what you see? He said I need to change my camera settings to .7 mbs so I can have my 500 quota of photos.

I also added a few new photos today of things for sale and I will be adding and changing every day for awhile.

Nancy, I had to roll my eyes when you mentioned 'I was getting all fancy with computer'...it's a real challange when you try to figure it out on your own - so much to learn. Glad you liked our primitives, some we've had since we first married and you know, I think I can remember exactly where we bought each one. We never kept anything just because it had alot of 'value', we kept it because it became part of our home. Our kids always like to see antiques in old photos, then look around and notice it is still here. We don't save anything for them to 'inherit' because they will inherit whatever is here when we leave!! Hannah Jo

YEP, THAT WAS A LOT OF FUN! You really do have a lot of fun things and very primitive. I will be watching to see what you are selling, you never know there just might be something I just have to have. Your little kitchen area looks very cozy.

Nancy Jo, I guess I should mention how the Picture Trail works, there was a day not too long ago that I didn't understand them either. Now there are 6 albums on my site and when you click onto each it brings you to several photos/THUMBNAILS over to the left, you then scroll down and click onto each of those and it will enlarge the photo to the main screen...did you do that? I have things for sale on almost all of the albums I think so look closely. The paperdolls are already sold...they are sooooo neat!! The kithen IS cozy and everyone likes to go in there - and stay while I cook. There is always something under the glass cake dome, in glass cookie jars etc. I think we enjoy this tiny kitchen more than we did our big farm kitchens. No dishwasher...dishes in racks and piles where you can get to them easily.....I have more to put on the album from our business, those were great years! Hannah Jo

Nancy, I must say in my opinion Hannah is the queen of primitive, You know she has to be good for Mary Emmerling to do her thing, I wish I knew all she does and she is good to buy from ,very honest, no put on about her things just how it is

Hannah,
What a privelge to have you share the photos of your wonderful belongings with us. You were obviously born with a "good eye" for decorating, everything is set up so nicely. So glad to have you here with the friendly farm girls.

Well Miss Wilma, I appreciate your kind words. As you know I absolutely LOVE good primitives and have spent my life being surrounded by them. Good primitives to us don't have to be expensive, they just have to be something you know was made years ago for a purpose and incorporate that piece into your home to use today.
In the past when magazines did photo articles about us I sometimes would be a little surprised to see just what we DID have. As I always tell people I really don't decorate or collect - we just gather the things together that we love, use them everyday and that becomes our form of decorating. We seem to be attracted to well worn items either in aged paint or the wonderful attic finish....just as long as it shows alot of daily use. We have a little early red stand that doesn't even have a 'good' size, the entire piece is so crooked...but my favorite! As I said in the beginning, I LOVE primitives.

Hannah - I'll see if I can figure out the deal with the main page background. That is just odd how it works for the other pages. Hmmm...

Oh I just figured it out. Follow those instructions again and instead of clicking on "reset" click on "update" after you choose a background color. See if that works.

thanks again Jessica, I think I'm ok now with the background issue. I actually want to keep the old, wooden background, it was something else I was seeing but my son cleared that up, said he didn't see the same thing. I'll get use to it!!! Hannah
