Here's a fun thing we like to do in the super cold days/nights (like ten degrees and lower) that makes the kids actually look forward to those temps! We make ice bowls overnight and then the kiddos have their cereal in them in the morning.
Take a bowl that's larger than your regular cereal bowl (plastic for both!!) and put your cereal-sized bowl in and tape the top bowl so that it stays up at the top but won't float way up. Fill up the in-between space with water and then set it out on your porch/whatever overnight. In the morning, take the 2 bowls off and you have a cool "ice bowl". Place it on a towel on the table and fill it up with cold cereal and milk. Sometimes the kids put decorations (beads, etc. in with the water) for more fun. Once they made a really large one and put a spoon in the ice to "trick" Daddy. Ha ha.
Anyhow--it's a way to appreciate the cold nights! Enjoy! If I could figure out how to post pictures I'd put one up of them, but hopefully the explanation is understandable.
That is AWESOME! I'm going to find some bowls that will work today - we are having such cold nights - it'll be ice bowl cereal tomorrow morning for sure!
