Hello Everyone,
My name is Linda and although I was born and raised in Washington State, I now reside in Los Angeles, CA.
This is a challenging place for a country-girl to live but I manage to bring the warmth and groundedness of "home" here and want to broaden that by being in contact with all of you!
Looking forwad to getting to know you!
Hugs,
Linder

Hi, Linder, and welcome! I have done the opposite of you...I lived in San Diego for 27 years and moved to Spokane 3-1/2 years ago...I am just loving it here, snow and ice and all (well, maybe not the ice so much...) and am getting used to seasonal gardening. You enjoy the year round gardening that you get to do in So Cal - it's a whole different world! There are a few of us ex-patriate Californians here at The Farm and likewise lots of California girls too...Enjoy your stay! Judy

Thank you all for your warm welcome! I live 7 minutes from LAX airport and have a house SO close by that it is sound proofed because of the noise from the planes. I have attempted container gardening here but find that the combiniation of dirt in the air and the several critters in my home that like to eat what's in my garden leaves me with a very pathetic harvest! LOL! My hobbies are cooking and baking. I'm a terrific baker! I'm a big arts & crafts girl. I used to can quite a bit but just haven't had the time since I moved here. Recently I have been creating some beautiful quilts out of vintage products that I purchase at garage & estate sales. I also love to read and listen to music.
Thanks for asking!

Hi Linder!! Welcome!!
Wow, for recently moving you sure have accomplished a lot. I'm sure it's those "hobbies" that keep you sane through the stresses.
I look forward to hearing more and seeing pics.

I'll take a picture of my latest quilt when I visit Minnesota this weekend and try to post next week. I made a super thick one for my best friend as a Christmas gift. All recycled vintage items except for the organic cotton batting. It weighs a ton but man is it warm!

Hi Trish! I'm from Bellevue, WA but have parents living in spokane, WA now. Home isn't quite like it used to be, not even the rural areas. That's growth for you. I love Spokane though, so much LAND, clean air and water you can drink right out of the tap! That's a miracle for those of us who have to buy our water here. LOL!

Welcome aboard Linder
I'm up in Ventura County. Not so sunny these days. In fact we had hail this afternoon. I had to chuckle when I read you were from Bellvue. I have an uncle and an aunt who live there. I use to tell him he made me laugh every time I thought about them. One time he asked me what was so funny. I said "how could I not laugh - a shrink and a therapist living in Bellvue. Wouldn't that make you laugh?" He thought that was great.
You're gonna have a great time here.

Grace!
I spoke with my parents today and it sounds like you're getting buried up there! How are you doing? My folks said, the mail delivery and garbage pick ups have ceased because the vewhicles can't get into the neighborhoods. They also said the kids have been out of school all week. Far cry from Moorpark, huh?
