Can you and if so how do you can baked beans? I can make them I just would prefer to make a large batch and can them for later and for gifts.

Cathy I do baked beans every year, I do them in 1/2 pints and my hubby puts them in lunch box,,,,,,,,lot of trouble but worth it, you have to use your pressure cooker |

thank you. sadly I do not own a pressure cooker. I guess I will have to look in to purchasing one. But for now small batches (um yeah right, lol) will have to do. Cathy |

I plan to can some up this year too..I always can up chili and stew, and have done plain beans (pintos and red beans) but will try some baked beans this year. My family really likes them. I know my husband would love to take them for his lunch too..good idea Arlene. I would need to do pints though. (4 kids at home and husband who really really loves beans) I use more pint jars than most anything else.

Can we have a recipe please? I have a pressure canner, but I am afraid to use it!!Maybe the beans will entice me to try...someone come and hold my hand..snivel snivel... |
