DIL just called me to tell me that they now know that it's going to be a boy! So that will make 3 grandsons! Her due date was changed from mid-June to May 28.

Ok, I need some simple ideas. I'm making cloth diapers and bibs. But I'd really like to make more than that. Anybody have any ideas what else I could make? It has to be fairly simple as my sewing skills are only mediocre. It's been so long since I had little ones; I'm having a hard time remembering what I had or needed. Oh, I could make some receiving blankets out of some great flannel fabric that I have! Anything else?

I love that polar tec stuff for blankets--you can blanket stitch the ends and presto! they come in such great prints, too.

How about knitting? That babe's gonna need some warm hats where you all live!!!

Congrats!!! We just found out my daughter is due with little girl no.3!!!! She's due May 26!
Have you thought of making a nice diaper bag to put all those cloth diapers in? very easy! I made one and my sewing skills are pretty limited too!! Hugs!

Burp pads are always handy....nice in flannel too.
Congrats!! I am sure looking forward to more grandkids some day. Oldest son is engaged to a gal with 2 sweet kids, so I will get more that way (I have one 5 year old perfect granddaughter right now) and then second son has a serious girlfriend so I am hoping that won't be TOO long until they are married and have little redheaded grandbabies. We havn't had a baby in the family in awhile!!
Enjoy it!!

Oooh, thanks, Jonni. I forgot about all the neat prints they have in polar fleece. I don't knit but I could make little hats and mitts for him out of that too if I can find a simple pattern for the hat. The mittens would be easy as babies don't need a thumb. My son and dil live in Salt Lake, so it's not quite as cold as it is here or for as long.

I love the diaper bag idea, Debi. I think I can handle that one if I think it out. I actually have a plain canvas material that I had bought and planned to dye and use to cover an ottoman. Well, the pup ate the ottoman, so this would be a great use for that fabric. A couple bottle pockets and what else would need a pocket?

Burping cloths are another great idea, Aunt Jenny. I used to use cloth diapers for that. And Libbie, I'll be sure to make the receiving blankets nice and big. I do remember now that they made them too small to use for very long.
