I have had the best time today, got to gether with some friends and took off to Corbin antiquing,we stopped in Somerset at the big 127 mall, but wasnt able to buy very much it is pricey, then on to my cousins shop in Corbin, now I can tell you if you are in KY that is a great place to go, You will find any thing from a 10,000 bedroom suite to the neatest primitives ever, I hate going to a shop that looks like a big yard sale with antique prices,Now I am a pretty thrifty buyer but I have never been there without coming home happy with every thing I buy. so any way today I got gray granite a cute doll hat,a mirrow A great stone jar some small kitchen ware and found a pc of furniture that I will have to go back for . One of my friends bought a 5 leg sq oak table and four chirs for 145.00 All in all its been a great day.

Miss Wilma - sounds like you had a wonderful day. What a great price on the table and chairs. I wish we had good antique stores here but they are few and far between. Think I need to take a trip to KY.

I would love to, Miss Wilma. It sounds like it will be lovely. I just love those old iron beds. I have one, too, but it is in the attic for now. It is twin size and I set it up in my bedroom, the boys room and even the living room ... yes the living room! But it didn't fit. We have a small home. Someday I will build an addition just to house that old bed.

An elderly friend of ours has removed her couch and has her old iron bed in her living room. It is just perfect and she can rest whenever she feels like, but it just blend right in. I love it!

If you need some help, I'd be glad to come over some Saturday and give you a hand. I just have to make sure my husband can care for Colt while I'm busy. Let me know.

I would love to come junking with you Miss Wilma. I also have a friend in KS who can find lots of treasures. I'd love to fly out, rent a truck, fill it up, and head back to WA, after stopping in KS too. Because we don't have quite the selection of antiques out here that are back east, they do go for some very good prices. Think I need to plan a trip.

What fun that would be..to go junking with you gals in Kentucky!!
I went and did a little yesterday..got some cute vintage linens and a book..a picture and stuff on my blog...I am due for a big old junking trip..this was just a short one with my sis in law..but she showed me a cute cute shop..and I saw my dream armoire. My bedroom has no closet (old old house and our bedroom was originally the parlor) and I would dearly love to have this one. If it is still there at tax return time I hope to get it...it would be cheaper than the closet that hasn't been built in the 5 and 1/2 years we have lived here! and would go better with the house anyhow!

Just think Jenny you could come to Kentucky and pretty much cover the entire state by spending one day a piece with those of us on here. The only problem is if you come to my part I would probably have to take you to Nashville since I am closer to that than anywhere else. But since I am not that far from Wilma we could just team up there.

Sounds like heaven on earth Kathy!!! I have only been to Kentucky once (when my granddaughter was born my son lived there only for a few more months after her birth..but my mom and I flew out and spent a week in Paducah with her) we did get to drive down to Nashville but never saw much besides Bass Pro Shop..since my son was doing the driving..haha. I thought Kentucky and Tennessee both were so so pretty!!!

Miss Wilma, all us Kentucky girls need to get together! I'm really into junking--my favorite kindof places are great warehouses full of salvage. There's one in Madison, IN that I get to periodically--I rarely need anything, but shoot, there's always something you can find. I'm always attracted to old farm implements!

Seriously, Corbin isn't that far from me--I mean--what, 3 hours? We could all meet up for a weekend and you can show us the sights!

Sounds good to me Jonni, I need to start saving my pennies though. I am about an hour and a half from Glasgow, but I don't know how much further it is to Wilma's place from there.

I know lots of out of the way places. Jonnie I am an hour and a half from Louisville and Kathy I am 15 miles from Glasgow Now I am looking forward to this, And Kathy just let me know when you are coming the only time I punch a time clock is when Mary Jane turns the heat up on me HA,week ends are fine, I will take you to one place that you will laugh all the way home.Jonnie I know where there is a very large building that is so full of every thing, the only thing we cant pick a real cold day to go there since there is no heat.

We should shoot for a mid Spring gathering--like mid March. I would just LOVE to get together with you gals and enjoy traipsing around our gorgeous state. It's not a far travel for me, I just need to work out the logistics (and, like Kathy said, save my pennies!!!)

I'm serious as the plague. Let's do this!

What's going on in Texas, Miss Wilma? Family or festival?
