Frannie, I got up this morning from my chair.. I fell asleep in it again last night. I remembered that it was Monday and I had to get to work. I'd forgotten to set the alarm last night. Usually I wake up the same time every morning, but not this morning. I came into work and I'll admit I am not worth a dime today. I think I've got 'holidayitis'. Anyway I've enjoyed spending time here with you all today and reading a book online. And working a bit too. ;-)

I have figured out the recipe for our traditional "New Year's Soup" for tomorrow when the kids come and eat, and eat. We will also have cornbread, fresh fruit, salad and chocolate layer cake. I am cooking ahead of time as I write. I have put away some of the holiday decs. :( I have cleaned the back porch and washed the new car. I have done laundry. I have arranged a dozen fresh roses on the dining room table for tomorrow's dinner. I have swept the front porch, and grocery shopped. And I think I have secured a major fundraiser for the FSU Department of Dance, but I cannot count my chickens before they are hatched! And tonight I am going to dinner with my hubby and 4 friend/couples, and I am going to have a big fat glass of wine!!!

Happy New Year!

I will be staying home with my youngest two children and the hubby. The 5 year old has a stomach virus :(. A friend is stopping over for a few drinks later in the evening though. All in all , not much going on.

I spent the day organizing kitchen cabinets, combining duplicate spices, getting rid of old ones and making sure to recycle all the containers that I could. Also cleaned out the pantry and reorganized the cleaning/utility closet. I really wanted to get the inside of the door painted, but that will have to wait for another time...dh is having folks over today for a hockey game and I'm cooking (and cleaning) right now...I also put my china in the fabric storage cases that I bought,oh, I dunno, 5 years ago???? In my reorganization, I'm finding things that I can "send" to farmgirls as RAOK, so I'm happy about that, too!!!!

I am worn out just listening to all that!! I may try to do that today,(mostly old clothes to donate to the church) but not making any guarantees. Jim will be watching bowl games all day & he insisted we get another turkey to fry. I am going to slice up a few sweet potatoes & oven fry them with spices.
Plus of course kiss a few goat snoots(already did once) & cuddle with the pups.
Exercise will begin tomorrow, but ABSOLUTELY none today.

This is my last day of vacation - up tomorrow at 5 am and back to work - ugh! I will be helping DH today do the invoicing for advertising in his newspaper so that he can mail the bills to his customers tomorrow. I just have my outside wreath and a couple of items on the porch to put away that were Christmas decor and then that is about it. Nothing really planned for rest of day. Maybe make a quiche later, but that is it.

hope everyone is well and happy this morning! we had such a nice time last night .. turns out everyone brought their children .. sooooooo .. happily no WINE .. so i didni't have to WHINE! but the guys did smoke big 'ole cuban cigars!! we played games with the kids (they got a Wii box! adults like it as much as kids i do believe!) we ate t'il we almost BUSTED! and had wonderful conversation! brad and cindy sell homes in kentucky and lots of new friends from 'off' were there! they have introduced us to so many people since we moved here! We are all called the PERRYVILLE POSSE (perryville, kentucky is where we usually gather). brad and cindy have a dream home on dream property .. and it is always a treat to go there. they are about the BEST COOKS we've ever met!! brad and cindy are the couple that we bought our cabins from .. they never lived in them .. just bought them to 'turn' for profit .. and oh my did they ever!!! they knew some 'dang fool yankees' with a little jingle in their pockets would want to live in this idyllic little slice of heaven! and we immediately became best friends!

if you are looking for a country home or farm and want to live in god's back-yard .. let me know and i'll put you in touch with them to find a special place for YOU too!

after we got home .. i was so excited about some dollies that i'm making .. that i sat and watched movies on tv and sewed until 5:30 a.m.!!!!!!!! just got up and i smell coffee cookin' .. sooo .. i'm heading to the kitchen to sit with honey hunk and make our new year's resolutions (this is a tradition we have had since meeting a long time ago!) we also read LAST YEAR's resolutions to see 'how we did' .. to see what goes BACK ON THE LIST .. to see what we accomplished that we wanted to! i see TRAVEL as a biggie for 2008!

hope everyone had a wonderful evening .. and wishes for a happy, happy new year! xo, frannie

I made a skirt, did my black eyed peas shopping and cleaned up the house a little. That's about it. Rob got home and we went to dinner, came home chilled and then rang in the new year. Happy 2008!!
