what you girls are up to--at least those of you in Mountain and Pacific time zones, or just crazy EST girls like me :)
It started out pretty here, with several inches of snow, but by mid afternoon, it had turned into a MEAN old cold rain, and now bitter temperatures, and for some reason, I'm anxious. DH and I got into a bit of tiff this am because I was vacuuming at 9:00 am, and he was trying to "be quiet" but he apologized and I don't think that's it...I just don't know, but I can't sleep even though I FEEL tired. Heck, I tramped around in the cold rain getting together last minute things and went to the grocery (because, unlike all the other folks in the world, I DON'T rush to the store when I hear snow in the forecast :)), so we didn't have even a drop of milk this am!!! I made 6 dozen organic dog cookies, and wrapped gifts, and got my secret santa "box" together to ship (because our mail man was covered head to toe in slush and I didn't have the heart to weight him down (he's a walker), so I SHOULD BE TIRED, right?

Grr. I'm such a dork.

That's funny Miss Wilma, I used to bow my head to pray when I was a kid and I'd end up napping. Mom had to elbow me alot!

We are getting this powerful storm that hit the midwest right now and I am wide awake. I am paranoid the power is going to go out and thinking of many other things too...give your hubby a kiss and try to just relax with each other...maybe you have a touch of cabin fever due to the weather. It has been pretty dreary with only a few days with sun here and there it seems since Thanksgiving and I know I am getting tired of the dreariness. Thinking of you, Erica:)

I hear ya, Erica. Hoping for the best out where you are...there's something kicking up here right now. Sounds like icy rain/sleet on our metal awnings. It sure is cold, I know that. Yeah, dh is in there sawin' logs, and we're fine--it's always nice when they actually apologize I've got the kettle on for some sleepy tea that my herbalist friend put together for me and my "monkeybrain" as she calls it, so I'm hoping that does the trick! It's pretty hard hitting!

LOL! have monkeybrain too a lot and end up not sleeping very much sometimes. If you're a dork, you are in mighty good company I hope you get some good sleep.

Miss Wilma, you are TOO funny girl, just blindsided me with that one. =)

Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart

Jonni-

I hope you got some sleep with the help of your tea. Don't you just hate days like that?! I had a "I'm tired but I just can't sleep" night last night too! Maybe the stars were crossed weird for us or something. ;)

JONNI . ARE YOU GITTIN' SNOW? WE JUST HAVE A 'FROSTING' OF IT .. LOOKS LIKE CONFECTIONER SUGAR SPRINKLED ON A BIG OLDE 'NATURE COOKIE' OUTSIDE! HONEY HUNK AND I ARE GOING TO BUNDLE UP AND TAKE A WALK IN THE WOODS! DAUGHTER, WEDNESDAY, CALLED THIS MORNING .. whoops! there i am in 'caps' again .. i jus' get to rollin' and not lookin' at the keyboard! .. anyhoo .. she said they have TEN INCHES in TOLEDO .. and wanted to know if i minded Lucas opening his snowsuit and sled as an early Christmas gift! i told her 'if it's snowin' .. now is the time to use them!

about the sleep ... let your honey sleep peacefully in on the weekends .. that vacuumin' thingie sure can wait! i figger there is always time to catch a little snooze .. i rarely nap .. but if i needed to .. i'd jus' head for the 'stranger room' upstairs .. which is 'darker than our bedroom .. and catch a few zzzzzz's. glad you found some fun things to do!

xo, frannie

Well, I didn't get to sleep until 4:30 or so...I made myself play some word game on yahoo until I couldn't even spell "the"...it seemed to work, but boy was it hard, listening to all the dogs snoring, and hubby in the other room in dream land. It almost feels lonely!

But, I'm up and at em today, got lots to do again, and I'm thinking that I'll be sleepy tonight since I only had 3 hours....cross fingers!

Just when you think you are the only one doing something you read about several others...like CarolSue, sometimes I can't get my brain/thinking to stop. Happened last night with me too, couldn't go to sleep and finally about mid-night I decided I was a grown-up and I could get up if I wanted to..so I did! Don't think there's anything wrong with any of us, creative minds don't seem to need much sleep.
Now as for Miss Wilma and her nap time....
Oh, a friend wrote this morning about an ORNAMENT EXCHANGE PARTY she went to last night, it really sounded like alot of fun.

I have to say that some of my best work comes from being up late at night. Like tonight, I've been working on some photographs from a wedding I photographed earlier this year. There is that peacefulness and quietness that you can concentrate on something like. I have no clue how in this world I pulled "all nighters" in college studying for a test or working on a paper. That was just about 5 years ago!!
