I found this yesterday at an antique store in Ripley OH. I dried a few loads already right in front of the fire. (Even though it is raining buckets here) It was manufactured by the Artmoore Co-Milwaukee WI

So great! I love those drying racks--I have one that folds in like an accordion and hangs from the wall. I got it in my Great Aunt's cellar ![](icons/icon_smile_wink.gif)
Such a great find, Lisa! Hope you are well, J

I love it. It is great how it folds up so small also. It sure beats the plastic one I have, but I can't complain I guess because it sure has dried lots of clothes for me in bad weather. We have an outdoor wood furnace and I can set it over the vent in my bathroom floor and a load of clothes are dried in no time. I also have a big window on that wall where I can open the curtains and let the evening sun shine in and it feels as if the are out on the line. No real breeze though. Last week I washed al my Christmas placemats and napkins and hung them there to dry and I felt as if I had accomplished something so grand having that chore done so early this year.. they are even pressed and ready. My dishes have been taken down and cleaned too, I have a massive collection about 25 years worth of Princess House Fantasia, that gets dusty in the china cabinet and I usually wait until I get ready to use it and have to wash them, but not this year. Done.
Welcome to the farmgirl site also. I am very behind on my welcomes, I'll have to do better.
Enjoy your new toy.
Hugs, Becky

That's a beauty, Lisa. I love those old racks. I even made the small wall hanging one that MJ gave instructions for in her Life Book. I surprised myself!

We were talking about this a couple of days ago--my sil is so darling, but she likes NEW stuff from Pottery Barn, and can't understand why her mom wants an antique (i.e., "used") pie safe. Why not just buy a new one that noone's contaminated????

Contaminated...that made me laugh, Jonni. She'd die if she saw Susan and me feeling under the shelves in an old cabinet for candle burn marks. Just hoping with crossed fingers to find some 'contamination' from hundreds of years ago! ROFLOL!

I'm the same way, Janice. I like old contamination--and I especially like hidden things in old furniture, like notes and coins!!!

I with you guys; old contamination is good.. I tend to be more leary of anything manufactured new these days(& a bunch of that Pottery Barn stuff is not solid wood anyway) |

I want to get a drying rack myself, I use a line that is only a clothing line hung in the basement and I run outta room. I agree nubidane the new stuff isnt usually true solid wood!! Lots of times its not healthy with chemicals too. Thank god for good ol stuff!

I'm a little late at getting on board of this post....but the drying rack is something I would definitely appreciate. I like old things, and some new things that look old. I have an antique cranberry scoop that has a small (old...not active) wasp hive on the inside. I left it. It's part of the scoop's life, or patina. :D
