Donna, isn't that a great pattern to knit?? I love playing with the color combos you can use. They make a really nice thick dishcloth.
Glad to know I am not the only one with this obession, lol

Woo! Hoo! Candace - you go girl! I love knitting dishcloths but I'm having even more fun with all these new patterns. I've knitted the same dishcloth for the last 8 years. My family and friends will be so surprised to see something different.

Hey there Kay,

I jumped into this swap just a few days ago and there are 7 pages of replies so thought I better make sure I'm not missing anything

Reason being..I bought some awesome cotton yarn today for some dishclothes and after the fact wondered if this was supposed to be themed for Valentine's...I don't think it is but wanted to make sure

Thanks so much,
Stephanie

I hope it's not just a valentines theme swap or I'd better get knitting again, lol. The ones I've done aren't. I just used some really neato spring bright colors.

I don't think the theme is Valentine's Day, February 28th is the deadline for having the dishcloth to your swap-buddy.

I am hoping that my crochet dishcloths (1st & 3rd items I've ever crocheted) won't be a dissapointment to my swap buddy. Crochet is new to me...love the texture of the thread & was concentrating on keeping the stitches uniform & so on...so mine won't be fancy...Kay, maybe you can pair me up with another novice crocheter?

Thanks Chandra, I didn't think it was but when I saw all the pages of replies I thought I'd better double check.

Novice crocheting is fine with me. I like to encourage newbies. I am sure it will wash dishes good! :-)

Oh no - it's not a Valentine's theme. I just kind of got that going because I wanted to make something with hearts since it will be close to Valentine's when we send things off to our partners. You just make whatever you want!

Trace -- you're just looking for any excuse to knit more dishcloths - LOL!

Chandra - any one of us would be lucky to have one of your lovely dishcloths!

Can someone clarify? Mastergardener just said that the deadline for getting our dishcloth to our swap partner is Valentine's Day. I thought it had been changed to the end of February. If it's the 14th, that's fine. I just need to focus then! ha ha

The deadline to have it to your partner is the end of February. You can mail it at any time - by Valentine's or after. Just as long as it reaches your partner by February 28th. All of the outlines for the swap are in the very first post on page one.

Sorry 'bout that Candace...I just edited my post after having read what it said and realized my mistake.
Thanks Kay for settin' that straight!
I learned a long time ago that if you give a gift that you, yourself would want to keep, it's probably a good gift, so, yep...I love these dishcloths & will keep in my heart that someone else will too! Thanks for the encouragement! Just love you girls! Edification!!!

Chandra, would love to get your crocheted clothes. I only knit and I have seemed some crochet dishcloth patterns that look really nice, even simple ones. No worries, whoever gets yours will enjoy them as much as you did making them, because they came from a friend who cared enough about what she was making to join the swap in the first place!!!

Kay... an excuse to knit more huh, how ingenous an idea, lol. I am working on something new BUT with the luck I am having, it will have to be part of the next dishcloth swap. Third time I am going to have to rip it out as I was not paying close enough attention and forgot to knit the border in, in one spot. The tricky part went easier, I frogged up the easiest part, heehe

So you see Kay, you will have to have another swap in the future!!!

When are you going to pair us up Kay?

HI,
It's been a long time since I've posted anything but I would like to do the dishcloth swap. I made a few before Christmas and planned on putting one in each of my sister's stockings and Mom's, but time got away from me, so ...maybe for their birthdays instead.

Hi Lisa! I added you! We need one more to make it an even number - anybody else want to join in the fun? I can pair every body up this weekend if that's ok. I don't think I can wait any longer!!

Trace - this is getting so bad for me that every night I look up new patterns and print them off! I found one last night for the most gorgeous round cloth with lace edges. That one will be a little more challenging so will try that for the next swap. We could do a Spring one with lots of pretty pastel colors!

Hey Kay, sounds good to me. Where are you going to post the parnters list, here or on the first page? I'll keep checking this weekend to see who me partner is.. Can't wait!!!

I know what you mean Kay, there are gazillions of patterns online. I've been checking them out as well, except I have to hand write them all out as my printer died ages ago and I haven't gotten another yet. Copying them out, sure can put a girls brain in a twist, lol.
Hope everyone will post pics of the cloths they get so we can see everyones creativity..
